Re: When does MS typically end?
Unfortunately, it's one of those things that's just different for everyone. It is very common for MS to fade or stop altogether by the end of the first trimester though. Hope you feel better soon!!

Re: When does MS typically end?
different for everyone..most people seem to have it end by the end of first trimester (so around 12 weeks or so).
Mine lasted around 20 weeks though.
I hope yours ends at 12!!

Re: When does MS typically end?
For me, 10wks.
This is what I tell my pts that they can try.. Vitamin B6 every 8hrs Dramamine (the regular kind, not the non-drowsey. So it will make you sleepy) Ginger candies (I got so sick of ginger that I never want to see it again. Lol) And then all the other stuff like crackers, have something in your tummy at all times, eat whatever you can (I ate pizza almost daily), sour flavors like lemon.
Good luck!

Re: When does MS typically end?
I think generally speaking-- you stop feeling like sh!t all day usually around 14/15 weeks. The waves of sickness sometimes come and go for a while after-- but most likely, you will begin to feel more like yourself early in the second tri.

Re: When does MS typically end?
I'm being cautiously optimistic that it's fading out for me...I'm 10 weeks 4 days. It was so bad on monday that I was vomiting in the car on the way to work so DH took me back home. But since then, I've been fine. So *knock on wood* I'm hoping that was the last and worst of it.
It really stinks! i hope you feel better soon.

Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) — Pyridoxine is a water-soluble B-complex vitamin that is a necessary coenzyme in the metabolism of lipids, carbohydrates, and amino acids. It can be used as a single agent or in conjunction with doxylamine succinate for the treatment of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy. Systematic reviews of randomized and/or controlled trials have shown that pyridoxine (vitamin B6) improves mild to moderate nausea, but does not significantly reduce vomiting. Thus, it is most useful for women with morning sickness rather than hyperemesis. The mechanism for the therapeutic effect of pyridoxine in women with morning sickness is unknown. Hypotheses to explain the beneficial effects of pyridoxine include prevention/treatment of vitamin B6 deficiency, intrinsic antinausea properties, and/or synergy with the antinausea properties of antihistamines. As a single agent, the dose of pyridoxine is 25 mg orally every eight hours, not to exceed 75 mg in a 24-hour period. Pyridoxine has a good safety profile with minimal side effects and is easy to obtain; therefore, it is a reasonable first-line treatment for nausea and vomiting of pregnancy, either alone or in combination with doxylamine succinate (which is a specific anti-histimine which I don't RX, only because I've never heard of it or worked with any doctors that use it).

How much B6 did you take?? My Dr. said to take 25 mcg 3 times a day, but it's not working for me- I threw up all last night :(

Re: When does MS typically end?
i'm mildly hyperemetic so not sure if my experience helps but i'm 15 wks and am still sick. i take zofran 3x/day and it's helped with vomiting but if it's humid or there's some smell trigger, i'll still dry heave. i take ~200mg of B6 but still can feel nauseous.

25mg every 8hrs. Like the article I copied and pasted said. It's more for the nausea ppl, not really the vomitters with me, I didn't think B6 worked and I never vomitted, just dry heaved. But some swear by it.

Re: When does MS typically end?
I agree with the pp's, it will be different for everyone. I think the majority will get some relief by 12 weeks.
With my DS it was 16 weeks and with DC#2 More like 12 weeks

Re: When does MS typically end?
Last pregnancy I started feeling better around 11 weeks, but was 100% better by about 16 weeks.
This time around I was sick as a dog for 12 weeks. Then I started to feel much better. I'm 14 weeks and still have problems with certain smells, and get naseous from time to time, but it is so much better then where I was in my first trimester. I'm hoping it completely ends in a few weeks.
I feel your pain!!!
