Kindergarten - lace up shoes Q.

and so it begins...last year DD refused to wear anything other than a dress and tights because that is what her new BFF wore..this year she insists on wearing sneakers with laces as her new BFF wears that type of shoe.

I thought the velcro strap would be easier but should I just give in and let her get the shoes with laces and just double knot them in the morning?

Do your kinders tie their laces?

Why don't you teach her to tie her own shoes? My DD just learned this week and it was easier to teach her than that I thought it would be.
If that doesn't work, then I'd just double knot. Someone will take pity on her and tie them if need be (I say this because I'm a teacher and am a sucker for the kids who can't tie their shoes yet and always do it!)

No reason not to get laces! Double knot them, and if they come undone, someone will retie them!

i specifically bought DD sneaks with laces so she could start learning how to tie them this year...

I'm a PE teacher who ties at least 20 sneakers a day. LOL Teach them to tie. However tie a double knot for them before school until they know how to tie well.
