Board Game Suggestions
I think in my Resource Room (I teach HS) I would like to incorporate some board games (maybe every other Friday). There are just some days the kids have no desire to work. I was thinking there are quite a few games that also incorporate math, vocaulary, spelling, etc.
So far I thought of:
Scrabble (spelling, vocab, math skills- when you have to total the points) Apples to Apples (I think this would be good because there are a lot of new vocab words- both the verbs and then unknown terms [for example the famous people, places, and events)
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Also, I posted on FHF but where do you think would be the cheapest place to buy them?

Re: Board Game Suggestions
I used to play Monopoly with my kids (before holidays.. as a reward.. ) but I found it was good to reinforce different math skills. For my kids, it was also good to get the socialization experience.
I remember I didn't pay much for it at Target a few years ago. Walmart has it too.....

Re: Board Game Suggestions
I play scrabble and boggle with my hs kids.
I also write a really long word on the board and see who can come up with the most words made from that word.
Scattegories would probably be fun too!

Re: Board Game Suggestions
My students love the card game Set. It takes some time to understand and get the hang of it and some kids do better than others but they really enjoy it. If you're not familiar with it, you can find online versions to see how to play. Maybe Clue for the logic skills.
