Curly Hair? Ak Salon or Colors of CSH

Hi, I am new to the Long Island. Does anyone have any recs on a place to cut and color curly hair? ITS SO HARD TO FIND!! I read some reviews online on Jen at AK salon in oyster bay or Joy at Colors of CSH. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of either of these people/places or other recs? Thanks!!!

from what ive heard jen used to work at colors.

i went to jen a few years ago for a consultation, but it was pre-wedding time and i was too scared to make any big changes. so i didnt go back

this summer i called colors and thats when i learned of joy. i went in for a cut. she was totally sweet and did a good job. i would go back to her when i need a quick trim

in general, the best cut ive had (and i have verrrrryy curly - spiral curl, frizzies -- hair) is at curlisto

the time that they spend on you is a long time, they show you exactly how to maintain your curl, and their products are EXCELLENT!! i still use their products. colors was a bit less expensive and i needed a quick appt so i went. but i will probably go back to curlisto at least 1x a year for the bigger cut and stick with colors for the trim

Jeanine at "who does your hair " in bellmore gave me a great cut. She knows the diva process but also has other ideas. First time that I am really happy with a cut.
