I wish I didn't drink...
before I got pregnant. Now I have so many events coming up showers, weddings, happy hours, and I am afraid of people figuring out I'm pregnant before I am ready to tell them.
Any ideas for faking it? Or should I just bail on all of them?

I've done the antibiotics excuse. this weekend, I put cranberry juice in a wine glass and DH thought i was drinking wine! (funny, he didnt even ask me about it till 2 days later  )

I think the antibiotics will work. I do have some family members watching me like hawks....so annoying!

I spent months on antibiotics last year and there were some who definitely thought I was covering a pregnancy. I wished that was the case! That would work though.
The seltzer with cranberry or lime works too. You could try to arrive a bit early or late so that you can hit the bar solo.
When I don't feel like dealing with it I just opt out. Half the time I'm too tired to care anyway. Plus I figure people will understand in a few weeks when they find out why I've been avoiding things.

Honestly people will still think its a possibility. I would not hide from these events. i went out and didnt drink and not a single person asked me why and then when I told them I was PG later on they said oh I thought so.

I would just stick to your guns when they ask why you aren't drinking. Less people noticed I wasn't drinking than I thought would.

I lie and tell everyone I took my allergy medication or that I took tylenol because i have a massive headache. Works everytime

Ha! I know the feeling! Tonight I have to attend an even with my boss at a sushi restaurant and there are cocktails included! This will be interesting!
ETA: what I've done so far this pregnancy and what I did with my DD, was either get a virgin margarita (when at a Mexican restaurant) or order wine and pretend to stip and when I went to the bathroom I just poured a little out each time. I've also had sparkling water with lime to look like a vodka tonic.

Are you driving? If so, you can fake a drink early, and then say you already had a couple and are driving. You can order a real drink and fake sip it, and pour some out when nobody is looking. You can speak with the bartender early on and let him know when you order a seltzer with vodka and cranberry, to just make it seltzer and cranberry. I also like the drank too much last night excuse.

I bought a beer...poured it out in the bathroom and filled it up with water and sipped on that all night! 
everyone, later on, said that it totally threw them off bec they never suspected a thing

DH & I order the same drinks & keep putting them down on the table next to each other. I pretend to drink mine every now & then and he alternates which one he actually does drink from so that they both go down pretty evenly. He gets a little more buzzed that he usually would, but I'm his designated driver anyway lol

I think the antibiotic excuse is very obvious and I wouldn't use it. I would order something and have DH drink it or dump it while no one is looking. Or go up to the bar alone or send your DH and get a cranberry and seltzer.

You are allowed to ACTUALLY have a glass of wine.
if you dont wnat to, get a glass and sip from it. When no one is looking (or go to the bathroom etc) and dump some.

I just did this at a wedding b/c Dh's grandmother watches all the girls like a hawk to see if they are drinking b/c that must mean they are pg if they are not  I normally drink vodka, tonic and cranberry so I just drank tonic and cranberry. I went up to one of the bartenders and quietly asked her to make it in the same glass she would an alcoholic drink and then just went to her the rest of the night. You will find something that works.

DH and I were just talking about this last night. We have an upcoming party and he wants to use the excuse that its my turn to be the desiginated driver. So we are going to go with that one for a while.
