For those pregnant with #2 or more...

How long did you wait to tell family and friends you were pregnant?? The first time around I waited almost 3 months, I don't think I can do that this time around.

Also, anyone have any creative ways to let them know???

Re: For those pregnant with #2 or more...

The first time around we told everyone by 7 weeks! I guess we had no "fear" back then and weren't even thinking about any risks...

This time we waited until after we had our first sono and saw the heartbeat to tell almost everyone. We told more people (extended family and friends) once I was 11-12 weeks and just about out of the first trimester.

When we told DD and FIL (who will be 6 in October) I went to Osh Kosh and got her a Big Sister t-shirt. We had her open the shirt up and read it to us. She got so confused, and so did my FIL. He said, who are you a big sister to, CHARLIE?!?!( who is our Dog) and we said no, we're having another baby! and showed them the sono pictures.

It was a pretty awesome moment. My DD was so excited and couldn't stop hugging and kissing me.

I'm not good at keeping secrets. Family knew right away (like, I told my sister before I told DH Chat Icon).

Each time, I just blurted it out.
When I found out I was having twins, I sent them a picture of a box of twinkies. It took awhile for them to get it. Chat Icon That was the only creative thing that I did!

This time, I told my mom bc she couldn't figure out why I wasn't taking medication for the shingles/ poison ivy that I had so I I just said, "IT'S BC I'M PREGNANT. DUH!" Real creative. Chat Icon

The first time for me was 17 yrs ago so I told everyone right away. This is DH's 1st so he is telling everyone, even strangers, lol. Ive told some people but, not everyone, dont know when I'll open up since its hard for me to keep something like this a secret.

I'm not a usual case, so this will be long...

For #1, we told our families right away -- it was around Father's Day so we bought FIL a Grandpa card and announced it to DH's side that way. Everyone cried - it was great.

Then I had heavy bleeding and some 'bad' sonos and were told we m/c'd. We then had to tell our families we m/c'd and it was heartbreaking. Actually turned out I WAS still pregnant so we told the family again...Talk about roller coaster!t

For #2, we fold immediate family at DS#1's first birthday party. He opened a special gift which was a "Big Brother" t-shirt. Again, everyone cried and it was great but we again had bleeding and thought we m/c'd...had to go through the roller coaster again and vowed if EVER we got pregnant again we'd not share until we were 12 weeks along.

For #3, it was a HUGE surprise and I wanted to wait to tell anyone until week 12 due to the bleeding concern. DH couldn't keep it quiet -- he told everyone he could - even some work friends. As soon as we had our 12 week sono, DH posted to FB.

Here I am at 17 weeks and I'm still keeping it a secret from some people because I just don't feel like having them all on the roller coaster with me (although I look about 5 mos pregnant!)

Re: For those pregnant with #2 or more...

this first time we called almost everyone within a day.

This time, we told parents and siblings immediately.....everyone else, around 10 weeks. Well, everyone except my 3 best girlfriends who knew before my DH bc they stood in the bathroom with me waiting to see if a second line appeared since we were all away on vacation together, LOL.

With dc #1 we told our immediate families between 8-9 weeks and everyone else at 12 weeks.

This time we're telling our families at 12/13 weeks & then everyone else at 14 weeks. The only reason we're waiting so long is because we're going on a family vacation at the end of week 12 w/both sets of grandparents & we want to tell them together this time (my ILs live OOS).

We got dc a "big sibling to be" tee that they'll be wearing to dinner the 1st night of the trip - I can't wait!!

We started telling after our first appointment when we saw the heartbeat at 6 weeks. Parents, siblings and BFFs. I'm not sure how much longer we will wait to tell the rest of the family and everyone else. I already look pregnant so I think people might figure it out soon.

With our 1st we waited longer to tell.
