Baby sleeps all day, cries all night - Before I throw myself out of a window..

One of my twins is trying to kill me

I will preface this by saying he is 7 weeks, but techincally he is 0 because my due date was October 8th.

El Diablo sleeps all day long, I usually have to wake him (every 3 hrs) to feed him. After the 9pm feeding (we tried doing it after midnight feeding too) we put him in the crib and WHAM its on. He screamssssss his head off for the next, oh 6,7 HOURS.

I have tried to keep him up longer during the day, it does NOT work.

I don't think its reflux or anything to do with his formula, because he is fine all day long.

I tried swaddling and not, doesn't seem to matter. Same goes for noise machine and mobile.

Marco, bless his heart, sleeps through this every night, thank God.

Any tips, advice? I love this little guy, but Ineed to sleep!

Have you tried having him sleep in his bouncy seat at night? That is the only thing that worked for my boys. (In the beginning they slept most of the day too.)

DD#1 had her days and night mixed up in the beginning too. We made lots of noise during the day and always had the lights, tv, radio on.

At night I only fed her in her room, with the lights practically out (just had a little nightlight so I could see), totally quiet. Didn't make noise.

I remember some mornings from 2-4am she would just scream and scream and I would be crying along with her.

Maybe try having him sleep in a bouncer or a swing at least until he learns his days from his nights.

Sounds like h has days and nights mixed up! My ped told me from the day we took my twins home from the NICU to make sure to establish day and night. During the day he said to nudge them every hour or so so they would not take a deep, long 3+ hour nap. Not necessarily wake them, but kind of nudge them out of the deep sleep.

What does he sleep in during the day that he sleeps so well? maybe try that at night time.

I don't really have much advice but wanted to offer you some . I know the feeling my boys used to switch off crying all night long for their first 9 months. Then I did CIO and it worked.

My girls were like that their first 5 weeks. Totally had their days/nights confused. Somehow they worked it out themselves and by 6 weeks they were sleeping 6:30pm-6:30am.

I will say try to stay consistent with whatever night time routine you establish so he learns the difference. And I also would stop waking him up for feedings. Let him learn to figure out when he is hungry.

I would keep swaddling and use the white noise machine. Both worked wonders for my girls.

My one girl would do this for the `1st week we were home until i had enough of it and hardly let he sleep during the day. I would wake her every time she closed her eyes. I know it sounds cruel and she was super cranky but that's the only way i got 4 hours stretches of sleep.
Like i said she was SUPER cranky during the day but at least she started sleeping at night and her days and nights were right.
