Help! Bad migrane

I have had a headache all afternoon which has now turned into a migraine. I'm dying over here.

Usually the only thing that helps is Excedrine or Advil, but I know those are no-nos. Is there anything I can take?
Tylenol never helps for me, but if I can take it I'll give it a shot!

Thank youChat Icon

I've gotten a couple so far but I won't take anything. I do an ice pack and sleep. Feel better, I know how awful it is!Chat Icon

Re: Help! Bad migrane

I have been getting really really bad headaches this pregnancy, one of them turned into a migraine. The only thing that works for me is soda because of the caffeine, apparently it helps with the brain swelling. I heard that coffee works too. In fact, I have a bad headache now and just sent DH to CVS to go get me a Dr. Pepper. Works every time for a couple of hours then I need to drink another cup. I know soda isn't the best for you but it makes me feel better than taking drugs and it's not like I'm chugging it. A glass here or there is okay.

Re: Help! Bad migrane

I had one on Sunday. Two tylenol and plenty of fluid plus a nap did the trick. It took about 24 hrs but i finally got rid of it. The pain subsided alost immediately after taking the tylenol. Hth

Eta my fluids consisted of powerade since the migraine made me too nauseous for coffee.

I get one every two weeks....I head to 7 Eleven and get a big gulp of coke. It either subsides it a bit or if I catch it early enough it goes away! I find that fountain sodas work better for me then bottled/can...dont knwo why?? Worth a shot for the $1!
