What do you think?
I interviewed for a job September 15th. They told me that they were hoping to know by October 1st which of the 9 candidates that they invited to interview would be called back to meet with the Dean. (College job).
I emailed maybe 2 days later to thank the committee for interviewing me and they replied back the same day that it was a very positive interview.
Now it is October 4th and I havent heard anything. Would you email to inquire about the status? Would you assume you were not getting a second interview? Would you just wait and see if they contact you?

Since they were "hoping" to know by Oct 1st, they may have gotten held up with something and are close to doing call backs. I would contact them again to check in.

I would email the point person/HR person to inquire if the position was being filled & if you were still a candidate.
Personally I hate getting those calls & telling someone they didn't get the job.
