Any good agencies for evaluating new CPSE case
I got a packet from school district for choosing agency for evaluations. We'd love to get a CPSE school program for DS but don't know any good agencies for starting assess him.
Thanks for any advice in advance

I've used Metro, Marion K and Up Wee Grow and have had all good experiences. My 7 year old (school chose not me) is LIDC and I love the home staff but the agency stinks.

Alternatives for Children does comprehensive evaluations and is also a therapeutic preschool.

Thanks everybody. Any recommendation for Variety child learning center and All about kids? And what location is better for evaluation-- home or agency? Any other suggestion?

As a provider I know that evaluations are done best in the typical setting. If your child is at a preschool go there. If they are at home more go they. If they have transition issues that you want to show go to the site.
Just because an agency does an eval does not mean you need to use them for the services.
When my students parents pick agencies I tell them to look at what they feel the difficululties the child is having.
Some agencies are amazing with children with autism, some are amazing with sensory, etc etc.

we were happy with OConnel & Selig in Huntington. We used them for services too.
all evals were at home or at day care.
The SLP at my school has good things to say about variety in syosset.
