For those who use a heating pad after PIO...
I've read some places that you should not use a heating pad when PG. I currently use it every night for 10-15 minutes after my PIO injection. Should I not be doing this? I will double check with Dr. B tomorrow, of course, but just wanted to see if anyone had been told that they should not use one.

I was on PIO until my beta and I used a heating pad everynight and am currently 30 weeks pg. I figured it was ok to use since the heating pad was more on my butt rather than on my lower back.

Don't have an answer, but I usually wet a washcloth, throw it in the microwave for 45 seconds, put it in a zip lock and massage for a few minutes after PIO. It works just as well.

I use it every night for PI0. As long as you do not put the heat directly on belly you should be ok.

you are told no heating pad or electric blanket or hot tub because raising your core temperature during pregnancy is bad. However I don't think using a heating pad for pio injections is going to raise your core temp.
