Help save these dogs
So Domino is doing it for the cats and I'm going to try to stay on top of this for the dogs. All the animals posted are from NYCACC and are on the kill list. I have a soft spot for them because the NYCACC is where I got my Rockstar from. Most of these beauties are Pitties and many are young. It just breaks my heart. Even if you can't adopt please pass the info along or pledge to help the rescues pull the dogs out whatever you can $20, $10, $5. Like with Dominos cats you have to act fast. Many of the rescues pull both dogs and cats so don't forget about our kitties either
If you are on FB and have the heart please like Stop the Slaughter at NYCACC , Urgents Part 2 and Rebound Hounds Rescue. These pages have dedicated people trying to pull these adoptable animals out ASAP and get them off the kill list and into foster homes and furever homes. They also have the list of all the rescuers and the applications that need to be filled out in order to find your new BFF. Manhattan Center

DO NOT call and say you are adopting unless you are going to go down there and get the dog. It is a waste of the staff's time to explain the adoption procedure over the phone, for someone to purposely not show up? They need every free second of their time to process Lost and Found checks and care for the animals. Not to mention people will think the dogs is safe and then they die. STOP IT OR I WILL TAKE DOWN THIS PAGE!!!!

Ugh I posted under the wrong name above . Here is another cutie that broke my heart
My name is ROCK. My Animal ID # is A915096. I am a male white ...and gray pit bull mix. The shelter thinks I am about 3 years old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 10/25/2011 from NY 10456, owner surrender reason stated was CHILDCONFL.

10/29/2011 WEB MEMO A volunteer writes: The silliest thought came into my head as I was unlatching Rock's kennel -' I wonder if he was teased when he was a puppy because of all his freckles'. Rock is stunningly gorgeous, gray and white, with a face full of freckles! He immediately went into the play position with me, happy to be going out, and happy for the opportunity to relieve himself (which he did immediately). He is friendly and energetic, a tail wagging happy boy. Rock was surrendered to the shelter as his owners have a new baby. They tell us he is housetrained, knows 'sit' and 'rollover', and has lived with other dogs and with cats. He was very friendly to the other dogs we met in the park, and seemed particularly fond of a large Weimareiner we encountered. Rock's coat is healthy, he is the perfect weight for his size, and although he does pull on the leash and will require some training, he is a big friendly good natured boy who is anxious to please his human. He was up on the park bench with me immediately, ready for some hugs and snuggles. Rock will do best in an active household where he can get lots of exercise and playtime. He is an awesome dog ready to find a family to love. Ask to meet him today.

May need to hit 0 a few times)!!See More Adopting a Dog From The “To Be Destroyed” Album If you decide to adopt a dog that is on the “To Be Destroyed” list, you must act fast. Any dog on the list, can be destroyed the following morning. We try to post the list every night by 6PM. You then have 2 hours to call the shelter and advise of your intentions. After 8, you must either have a rescue call, and place a hold, or YOU MUST CALL THE SH...ELTER THE NEXT MORNING BEFORE 8AM! Do not wait because I guarantee that the shelter will not wait either. Euth's begin at 6am. Call early! When calling the shelters, you will get a recording. Do not leave a message! They do not check those machines!! Hit 0 at the end of each message cycle and, eventually, someone will pick up. It may take 30 minutes, but they will answer. Do not give up, a life is depending on you! Re: Help save these dogs
What really gets me is reading about these dogs lives before they became shelter dogs. Both sound so well adjusted, lovable, and great dogs to have in the house. My dog is so loved by everyone in the house---and we all agree, we couldn't imagine life without her! She is an important part of our family! I couldn't imagine taking a family member and just giving them away to the shelter knowing what could one day become their fate! It just makes me so very sad
I wish there was a way to make sure that anyone who wanted a pet would get it from a shelter! Of course there is no way to do that, just to spread the word. I know that I always speak the praises of my shelter dog ... and hope that one day people will decide to get their dog from a shelter also because they've heard the great experience that I had with it!

I know. Most of them do sound well adjusted. I just don't get why people drop off their dogs at kill shelters. WHY? Especially a Pitt. So sad. I want to take them all home

Why? Becuase people are pigs. Digusting. They want what they want when they want it. Then they want to dump it when the going gets tough or the novelty wears off.
Best is when they have or are having a baby. Bye bye doggie. I don't need you anymore to baby, I will have a human baby. heartless creeps IMO.
