I have a giant dry erase board calendar, everything and anything is written on their and it's hung in the kitchen, I check it as soon as I get up and before I go to bed, lay out the boys clothes the night before (after checking the calendar) have everything in your purse organized, get a command strip hook for you keys and hang it right next to the front door. Get rid of all the other calendars too many creates confusion. Go through what you MUST get done for the week and break it down into things by each day for instance my weekly things:
Monday:
Grocery Store
Tuesday:
Cleaning
Wed:
Laundry
Thurs:
Appointments
Friday:
Reorganization
this way your weekends are free for fun. Make a menu a week in advance to avoid dinner scrambles, give your self a take-out day. Also keeps grocery shopping minimal to one day a week. HTH!!!!

I have a calendar on my Mac that I use for work stuff and now will be adding the boys stuff to it.
I wish I could hire a personal assistant to do all of my holiday shopping for me. My free time when the boys are at school is now spent working so I don't have time to run to the stores without them. November is such an insane month between work and parties that I feel like I'm never going to get caught up.
Working from home is much harder than I ever anticipated.
D, my icalendar (same as the mac one) syncs with my yahoo calendar :O) you can color code the boys to a different color.. that way, you can separate the two.. and I suggest you go and get an iphone! you will thank me for it! xo
hahaha, I just updated everything on my Ical.

Diana, I wish I had words of advice, but I am in the same boat. Between the 2 kids, the apartment, and then the cookies, it gets crazy. I realized today by 1:30 that I hadn't eaten a thing. Honestly, there just isn't enough time in the day! I tried an organizer type program, but that didn't work. I tried actual pen to paper schedule, and with my DD's schedule (she's 9) it just is pretty hectic, and basketball hasn't even started yet! If you figure out something, please pass it along!!!!

girl, I think you need to cut yourself a little slack! You have alot on your plate, and you're doing a great job, even if you don't think that you are!!!

I agree, one calendar. I use different colors for each kid and all my appts in a 3rd color. Family stuff (birthdays, parties, etc) is a 4th color. DH thinks I'm nuts but it works for me.
As far as the holiday shopping, can you do it online? Or make a list and see if someone else can pick stuff up for you while they are out shopping? I'm constantly shopping for other family members while I'm running my own errands.
I'd bet part of it is the time of year too, it starts getting really crazy with all the holidays, shopping, school events, etc. and now your business is busiest at those times too.
Hope you find a system that works for you fast.

Totally get an iphone and sync your calendar. I also own a business, am pretty much a full time SAHM with three kids. I use my work outlook calendar for everything and sync it to my phone, so it beeps at me with reminders all the time.
