So, what are you doing with all that candy?
We have SO much candy! That is one difference that I've noticed over the years- -- the older the kids get the more trick or treating they do. We were out for a combined total of 4 hours yesterday! It was a very social event, with Emily TOTing with a friend from school and we had a blast...and much to her happiness people were very generous, but I'm just  at the thought of all this candy in the house! It isn't good for any of us!
So what will you do with it all?
I'm thankful for the people who handed out pretzels, teddy grahams, juice boxes, etc. We will use them for snacks for school.
My pediatrician was buying back non-chocolatae candy yesterday to send to the troops overseas, but there was no way for us to get there yesterday! Looking for other ideas!

Our Cub Scout Pack is making care packages with the extra candy to send to the troops.

Our school is collecting for the troops.
My kids are aware that candy spoils quickly . I siphon off the rotten candy & bring it to work.

Every year I let DS pick some candy to keep and the rest he "trades in" to us and then he gets a trip to the toy store to pick out a toy. This year we did the same and the candy he isn't keeping was given to his school who is collecting for a local low income dentist who will donate money for every pound collected for getting kids dental care and the candy is being sent to our troops overseas

He gets to pick 5 of his favorite pieces, we take what we like then I use the rest of it to fill DS birthday goody bags. His party is in 2 weeks so it works out perfect.

We send it to the troops. Operation Gratitude collects it, you can check their website for info.

DD's DDS office collects for the troops overseas and gives gift cards in return! But, she (fortunately) was too tired to ToT for long so we don't have much.

Our local dentist's office has a drop box set up in all the local schools and the candy gets sent to the troops and that is where 75% of it is going - to be honest they didn't get a whole pile but most of it was stuff they normally dont get so I am happy to be getting rid of it.

I'm giving it to my friends. One gf is a hs teacher who uses the treats for her kids in class.. little motivations. The other is a chemist and she likes to keep candy or small treats in the lab for her peeps.
