Please recommend a psychiatrist for PPD
I may be ready to see someone... looking for recommendations in Suffolk - I live close to Wading River.

Psychiatrist is an MD that basically prescribes medication. I don't know if this is what you are looking for. I don't know any good psychiatrists out there.
A Psychologist is a Ph.D. that does talk therapy. Below are a few very experienced and good ones.
Dr. Helen Meyers is in West Islip (a little far) but I know she specializes in post postpartum issues. 669-1146
Dr. Linda Bucaria is in Port Jefferson 928-6228
Dr. Barbara Fontana is in Shoreham 821-1880
They would be able to refer you to a psychiatrist if they felt you needed meds.

Not specifically for PPD, but you could try Juliet Nichols at Mather Outpatient Behavioral Health in Mount Sinai.
