commack water bill
so I live in Commack on the Smithtown side- is it normal to have a water bill of 400 dollars every three months??? Seems crazy to me but I grew up in Nassau and the water was super cheap there. I am thinking maybe I have a leak or something or is this just how much it cost?? TIA

thats really high unless you were running sprinklers 24-7
the highest I have had was $150 for 3 months and thats with filling a pool 2x in the 3 month time frame and a hot tub and running sprinklers every day

From some previous threads:
Our water bill varies with the seasons. It is paid quarterly I believe. My next one is around $38.00. In the summer it may be around $100.00? (We use a sprinkler system daily).
our electric and gas together are about $250. Water is about $20.
water is cheap like $40 every 3 months
$10/mo water
Water $50 every 3 months
Water $50/month
water: (3 months) $50 summer time its a little higher.
Water - maybe 130 per year??
Yeah, I think something is wrong......

that's crazy high. Commack/Smithtown is serviced by Suffolk County Water Authority - there isn't anything specific to the town that would cause such high rates.

Maybe you have a leak in a pipe? Do you hear running water anywhere? This happened to us, you could sort of hear it when you put your ear to the floor. Our leak was in a pipe that went from the street to the house. We live in commack too but our water bills are usually significantly lower.

I have been here 5 years the most we paid was like $120.
We are Smithtown, Commack border with Smithtown Water Authority.
I think our avg bill is about $90 every 3 months during hte summer. Not sure about hte rest of the year.
ETA: In our prior home we where SUFFOLK water authority and the bill was less. now we are SMITHTOWN Water.

My last water bill - paid in Sept - was $390.
In Ground pool and daily sprinklers for lawn and garden.
That being said - my March and June bills were only about $45 each.
