My cat won't eat her food.

The shelter gave her Iams.

I bought Iams. No luck in her eating it.
I bought Fancy Feast. No luck.
Whiskies. No luck.

She did, however, devour a piece of chicken that was cooked and fell on the floor.

What gives?!

How long have you had her? Is she still adjusting to her new surroundings? My new cat did nt eat for a couple of days when I first got him.

are you giving her dry or wet food?

when we got our kitten she wouldn't touch the food they gave her at the shelter but she ate our other cat's food.

she now will eat only the wet food we give them, but not the dry.

they have wet cat food made with chunks of chicken - it's more expensive than regular stuff but it may be worth a shot. you can always feed her that to get her to start eating again and then wean her off of it...

^^ I've had her a few weeks now. I always leave out dry food and then feed her the wet food.

It seems she doesn't like the beef mixtures, and the chicken mixtures she eats only a little bit.

But she is hungry, because she wakes me early in the morning to feed her.

try some rice mixed with chicken broth. she could be having some digestive issues that are making her uncomfortable and associate her food with that. rice and broth is soothing and filling so she'll only have to eat a little bit to fill her tummy. tmi, but how are her poos?
