Great Adoptive Parent Committee Announcement
We are asking that you help spread awareness on adoption and write a story on our organization and our event. The Adoptive Parents Committee (APC), the oldest adoptive parent group in North America, is pleased to announce that on Sunday, November 20, 2011, APC will host the largest daylong adoption conference in the Northeast. We need the support, especially for people who are interested in adopting or who have been through the adopting process. They can join the organization and learn about the process or talk about their experience.
This conference will address critical issues facing adoption today and help raise awareness of adoption by providing current information and resources for prospective parents, adoptive parents, and professionals in all fields related to adoption. Ambassador Susan Jacobs, Special Advisor for Children's Issues and Joe Kroll, the executive director of the North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC), will serve as keynote speakers at this 31st annual Tri-State conference. The conference will also feature 50 exhibitors, an adoption bookstore and more than 85 workshops by 55 adoption professionals and will be held at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York located at 180 Remsen St. in Borough Hall, between Court and Clinton Street.
The Adoptive Parents Committee (APC) is a non-profit parent support group comprised of volunteers dedicated to improving all aspects of adoption and interim (foster) care. APC, the oldest adoptive parent group in North America, was formed in 1955 by a small group of people who shared their adoptive experiences. Today, there are more than 1,500 member families who belong to one of APC's four chapters: Long Island, New York City, New Jersey and the Connecticut/Hudson Region. Some of the members are from Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania and other states throughout the country. HELP SPREAD AWARENESS!!!
