Training a labrador?

What is the easiest way to do this?

I have a 7 week old yellow lab we got last week...she is great, eats, sleeps, plays nice most of the time (her teething is bad)

All I've been doing for potty training is taking her out of her cage and immediately bringing her outside. She goes right away. When we are not home, or we aren't "with" her playing, she is in the cage. She hasn't ever had an accident in there.

Is this all I should be doing?

Re: Training a labrador?

That is all I did as far as potty training. If my dog was in the crate we took him right outside when we got home. He knew that going potty was only outside. It did not take very long. The only time he had an accident when when he wined to us and we didint pay attention.

Now he is 2 and hasnt had an accident since he was about 6 mons old.

Don't forget lots and lots of praise when your pup goes in the right spot! :) Treats are good too.

Also - make sure you don't scold the dog for an accident. If you catch your dog in the midst of making inside, just bring her outside immediately to finish and praise.
