I have an under-active thyroid (Hypothyroidism), and was diagnosed when I was about 14 years old. If you need an endrocronologist referral, please let me know.

DH put on 25 lbs right after we were married, and he was grumpy and tired all the time.
Turns out it was an underactive thyroid. doc put him on synthroid, he lost the weight and feels much better in general now

I have an underactive thryoid. I was always tired and I would lose my hair but once my Dr put my on synthroid (about 7 years ago) I have been feeling great.

Does anyone take the pig amour (sp?) instead of synthroid? I am wondering how it is---

All you need is a blood test to test your thyroid hormone levels.

My mom takes this. They say it's better than synthroid. At leats my doctor does. they prescribed it to me, but I didn't want to take it because it's made of procine thyroid glands and I'm a vegetarian.

I was just diagnosed with a hypo-thyroid and I the dr started me on Synthroid.
I was wondering if by taking this medicine, it will help lose the weight I have gained from my thyroid problem?
