Pregnant with twins- Q about figure/stomach

ladies give it to me straight...

is it pretty much guaranteed that ill have sagging dropping skin and breasts and stretch marks

ive sort of accepted that i will probably need a tuck of some sort to look normal..these babies are my LIFE and having them will be the most wonderful thing...

but is there any glimmer of hope that i might bounce back like those do after a singleton?


i just want the honest truth. i have looked at too many pics online of "the shape of a mother" and many of them are for women who are like 20 or 25..
i am 32...

i just want the truth about what my body will look like to prepare myself is all..


eta- I am 11w and already using strech mark creams and oil...but i feel like at the end of the day it is probably genetics

My body bounced back with one exception.
I had a c/s and have that awkward pouch. I have small boobs so there's no sagging and didn't get any stretch marks. I think it has less to do with having multiples and more to do with your genes and body type.

it may not happen. Im not as thin as you but I def bounced back.

I didnt have scretch marks AT ALL! Nor the 1st and def not this time around.
Very lucky.

I lost weight and 10lbs less than pre pg and still dont have stretch marks and just a little pooch.

I will take that. badge of honor

ETA: I also had a c-sec.

I only had 9 days ago, but I feel like I'm bouncing back already. So far no stretch marks. I'm pumping right now, so I have no idea about the sagging yet --I'm still thrilled to finally have boobs!
I had a c/s too and when I bend certain ways my stomach is kinda pointy... is that the stomach pouch?

yes! i didnt announce because it was first triplets- 1 singleton- and 1 egg split into identicals - but one of my identicals vanished a few weeks ago.

i was very nervous about the surviving identical making it since i was given very grim statistics.

however my past 2 scans have been excellent and both single and remainig identical are growing perfectly.

now i can pretty much come out of the twin closet !

Congrats!! Twins are such an amazing blessing!!!

I do have stretch marks on my boobs...they took a beating and my stomach will never be the same. I would never trade being the mommy of twins for anything though.

Holy cow! Congratulations!!!!

Yes, you can bounce back after twins. I did not get any stretch marks (and I was HUGE). I got back to my pre-prego weight but my stomach is much more "mushy" and boobs are a little saggy. It's all worth it!

I gained a total of 41 pounds with my twin whom are now 16 months. No stretch marks anywhere, no flabby stomach,etc. I delivered them vaginal and breast feed for 3 months.
Ive finally gotten to my pre preganacy weight as of 1 month ago. The weight did come off and my body for the most part is back to "normal" I really think good genes helps! I have three older sisters with kids and they alsoi had terrific pregnancies and post-pordum.

It took alot of exercise and watching my diet. I wake very early to exercise before I go to work. Dont worry, enjoy!

I gained around 53 lbs delivered at almost 34 weeks.

No stretch marks here. I breastfed for 6 months and when I stopped my boobs when from at least a dd back to a b in about a week. They were sooo saggy. I cried but slowly but surely they are getting better.

I am 9 m pp and I still have about 4 lbs to loose but that is my own fault. (as i eat a cookie). My stomach needs toning but again my fault. I need to get my butt in gear.

The only thing I don't see getting better is the little pooch. I get bloated easily and sometimes I look like I have a little pregnant belly if I eat/drink too much.

YAY!! Congrats, so happy for you!
I bounced back - took some work but I believe its genetics. I gained 75 lbs (went from 112 to 190 on day of delivery) and didn't get even one stretch mark. Lost all but 15 lbs without trying. I had to work off those last 15 lbs. I have pics in my twin pregnancy album from the hospital post partum and then through the weeks. You can see I looked pregnant for a few weeks after giving birth. I lost all of the weight plus the 3 lbs leftover from pregnancy #1 but my skin is much looser now. If I bend over and touch my toes you can see rolls. If I am standing straight you don't notice it. My abs are also seperated (diastasis recti) so I get bloated very easily. But I am NOT complaining!

Boobs! Now before pregnancy I had the best boobs, round and perky no bra needed 34 full c/small d. After having Landon they stayed the same size but sagged. After the twins, they sag a lot more and are smaller. Now a 34 small C. I did BF/pump with both pregnancies so not sure if that has something to do with it. But its nothing a bra can't fix.

Again I am so so so so so excited for you!

mike and i are soooo excited for these babies... if i think about it too long i start to cry happy tears for my blessings.

Fisrt off congratulations so exciting!!! Hope you are feeling well! I have pretty muched bounced back with the exception of a few more pounds to lose around the hip/arse area lol. My stomach for the most part has flattened out and no stretch marks, I don't particulary have large boobs so they are whatever!!

I'm crashing just to say I had a singleton but gained 52 lbs which I was not expecting I planned on gaining only 25-35

My baby just turned 4 weeks on Saturday and I've already gone down 40 lbs. My belly was pretty flat when I left the hospital...I know it's not genetic since all the women in my family are still fighting pregnancy belly but me. I think it might have to do with how fit you are beforehand. I was at my prime before getting preggo...

As for stretchmarks, I did not get even one. I was a lunatic and covered myself in cocoa butter, vitamin e capsules and aloe vera lotion 3xs a day

I got crazy stretch marks but they are barely visible now, almost 3 years later and having another baby in that time !
I do have a bit of a roundness to my belly which is from my muscles separating and I also have a whole bunch of extra skin that I don't see going away without at tummy tuck.
That all being said, I am at my skinniest that I have been since I was a teenager. I am in a size I haven't been since I was 15. With clothes on, you wouldn't know all that stuff I mentioned above was going on.
And I don't have saggy boobs either. Well, I'm breast feeding now, so they are kind of saggy, but after I was done BFing the twins, they went right back to how they were before.
I was almost 31 when I had the twins.

ETA: I gained 35lbs when I was pregnant with them (delivered at 37w5/7days).

Congrats on your pregnancy...so exciting!!

I initially bounced back, but after the first year I gained some weight. The weight gain had nothing to do with the pregnancy though.

dont worry you will be fine. i think i looked at the same pics as you and got so freaked out...lol
i put on about 55lbs- zero stretch marks, down 50 lbs. no sagging skin anywhere. my tummy is not as flat as it was before but it would be if i didnt have a bowl of ice cream every night. after the holidays i'll be dedicated to losing those last 5-8 lbs that have been lingering around.
it does take time to lose it but most of it comes off in the first few weeks just from doing your daily activities/ routines. good luck

Congrats! First off, I only gained 40 or so pounds with my twins and had them a month early and a c-section. I have the awkward pouch because of the c-section. While my body bounced back and you would never be able to tell of issues with clothes on, I do have extra skin that seems to circle my belly button. I know I will never lose it unless I have a tummy tuck. I never got stretch marks though and although my boobs are small nothing bad happened to them either!

So besides never wearing a bikini again, my body looked like it did before I had the babies. It did take me about 9 months to lose all the weight. The last 7lbs were a killer to get off.

Congratulations!!! I gained 45 lbs and made it to 36 weeks 6 days, vaginal delivery. Unfortunately I was left with some stretch marks that are very very faint . . .Dr. said they will go away completely. I hope so! They really aren't horrible. I haven't lost all the weight yet, but that is due to my eating . . .working on that ;) Boobs aren't saggy at all!
