I have seen a lot of posts a sing advice for hard to shop for people, so I am goi g to start a thread because I have gotten some fm about this site.

They are in Brooklyn and sell a LOT of interesting things. Last year I bought a book for DH he can put all his old concerts stubs in. He loved it.
This year I am getting him a guitar pick puncher. I actually bought one for his best friend also. I bought them yesterday and I think I'm getting them today.

I think most of DH's Chanukah gifts last year were from this site. He works in IT, and is video game player - it's the best!

Re: **official thread*** great websites for hard to shop for or interesting gifts.
I just spent a LONG time writing up a response with all the links only to not be logged in when I went to post it and I lost the ENTIRE thing. So so mad.
Anyway, here is pretty much what I had:
For the couple/newlywed/new home owner: Family name sign from MRCWoodProducts on etsy. His work is amazing and he has great turnaround time as well: http://www.etsy.com/shop/mrcwoodproducts
For the Gardener: Fairyscape on etsy. Succulent live wreaths. So unique and different. http://www.etsy.com/shop/Fairyscape
For the Wine Drinker: Personalized "estate/vineyard" coasters from Ballard Designs or Wine Enthusiast.com
Magazine Subscription: I love the week Magazine. It is so informative - it pulls news from a bunch of different sources and summarizes it. Also has a really good business and technology section. There are very few ads so it is not thick at all (for those people who commute). I am obsessed with it. http://theweek.com/
For the Friend / Grandparent / Parent: I get a digital photo frame and STEAL all of their pics off facebook and put it on the frame (along with any that I have in my personal collection I think they might want). I have done this numerous times and it always goes over very well Here is a frame for $25 on Amazon. I then buy a $8 SD Digital card and save all of their pics to it, insert it in the frame and viola! It is ready to go for their office, house, etc! http://www.amazon.com/Coby-DP700WD-7-Inch-Widescreen-Digital/dp/B003K0HISY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322678948&sr=8-1
For Little Girls: Personalized Jewelry Boxes from Pottery Barn Kids
For Little Boys: Name Trains from Maple Landmark http://www.maplelandmark.com/nametrains/nametrains_wrs.lasso
$10 or less: Penzey Spices small gift boxes - they have one for the grill (for guys) and one for baking (for ladies)

I am always looking for ideas and will update this post with things I come across!!!

I bought a bunch of stuff from Urban Outfitters yesterday, my dad is getting a beer making kit and a recipe book and my hubs is getting playing cards that look like a tape deck (stocking stuffer, he's a magician and collects different types of playing cards)

I like cafepress. Although its common goods (tshirts, sweatshirts, ornaments, etc), you can get them displaying pictures and sayings of uncommon hobbies and interests.
