Is this something to be upset or concerned about
I'm just at 6 wks along. Since I had a MC in April I called my Dr right away & asked to come in for some blood work. I went in on 11/28 (got my BFP on 11/19) and my Dr explained that if there were any problems, I would hear from his office the next day. He also gave me a script for progesterone suppositories. I never heard from them so I obviously didnt fill the script.
Fast forward to Saturday evening, I was dead to the world all day and then DH & I went out to dinner. I looked at my cell for the 1st time all day @ 10:30pm & I see 2 missed calls. I check my messages & its from my Dr saying he needs to speak to me & leaves his cell. I call him right away & asks if I filled the progesterone suppository script. I say "No, I never heard from your office." So he tells me to fill it b/c my progesterone is low. I was shocked and upset but didnt ask a lot of ques. I went & filled it right away.
So I call this morning to ask a few ques about taking the suppositories b/c there were no real directions w/it. He is VERY short w/me. Treats me as if I am annoying him. I even had to ask HIM if I needed to come back in to have my blood checked again. Then I asked about how low my level was & if I should be worried. He said that the levels were very low & that the progesterone suppositories might not help.
I am beyond upset that I didnt hear from them for 4 days!!! Also, that he didnt call my emergency # (DH) when he didnt reach me right away on Saturday.
Am I correct in being upset or is this normal Dr behavior and I am extremely sensitive?

ITA! I would be upset and ****** as well. If I were you I would switch to a new doctor you don't need someone to act as if "you're bothering them" Nobody told him he had to be a doctor. Good luck to you

(Crashing, not pg)
Your Dr should have explained the script a bit more to you when he gave it to you. He might have felt that being that you had the MC you should go on them as a precautionary measure (and if so he was right b/c your levels were low) imo-when a dr gives you a script, ask questions and fill it.
Their office should have called you right away, and imo they should have called every possible number they had available for you. And he should have been a bit more sensitive to your feelings and questions when you asked them. And imo you should be going back in to have more bloodwork taken and make sure that your beta levels are doubling every few days.
As far as the progesterone, wear a liner!! That's the best advice I can give you! There really aren't detailed directions. Do it once or twice a day (whatever he wrote the script for) just put it "up there" (don't know how else to describe it)
I hope all works out and you have a happy and healthy nine months !!

I think too often MD's forget that we're not just a number to them. I agree, he should have explained the supps to you better and should have told you when to come back. Especially with your history, he shouldn't have been so harsh to just say "the #s are low and the supps might not help". I'm sure there was a nicer way he could have phrased that. As far as calling you emergency #, I don't see why he would call your DH. Normally, they call the emergency # only if there is an issue with you in the office. Not to deliver lab result info to. I could be wrong though.
Sending you lots of that all goes well!!
