Do you dress up your pets?

Either throughout the year, or for the holidays?

Darwin hated even having the little boots on in the winter. There was no way we would even attempt putting an outfit on him. He was very skittish about everything.

Any Santa cats or dogs in the house? Chat Icon

Re: Do you dress up your pets?

I used to dress up my dog. He hated every minute of it. My pit would never sit still long enough for us to get anything on her.

The first week we got Irwin, I put him in a jersey, much to DH's chagrin.

He also has an Old Navy polo shirt, but I don't have a pic of that one. Chat Icon

He's been a hotdog for Halloween.

And he's proud of his heritage. Chat Icon (Please note that bottle only has peanut butter in it!)

ETA: On the sidelines of each photo there is some serious treat bribing going on.

ETAA: He also has mickey ears and reindeer antlers but I haven't been able to have him hold still long enough for those photos... YET! Chat Icon

Re: Do you dress up your pets?

Most dogs with double coats don't need winter protection so I don't put anything on them to keep them warm.

But I'm totally serious about this - Brinkley LIKES clothes. It started when I would fold blankets and he'd be standing there, like he was waiting for something. Then he'd sit, which is a sure sign he wants what I have. So I'd put the blanket on him and he would get so excited!

Then I dropped a piece of clothing on the floor one day, and he trotted right over and laid down on it. Then he started tucking his head under the sweatshirt I have hanging off my office chair and then standing there with it on his back. Then there's toweling him when he's wet:

Dog is a regular fashionista, I'm telling you.

However! Now that we have Ginger, if I put something on Brinkley like a t-shirt or costume, she takes that opportunity to try to rip it off him. Chat Icon She doesn't like clothes on herself and apparently, doesn't like them on Brinkley either.

Re: Do you dress up your pets?

Charlie quite enjoys the sweater that I made her last weekend. I think the reason is that she knows it's time for a walk. I take it down off of the hook where the harness and leash are and she jumps onto my lap and nudges her head into it.

I picked up some red yarn yesterday and this weekend I will make her a red sweater with a white ruffle --- so she can look like Mrs. Claus for the month!
