st.josephs in babylon nursery school and grace methodist in lindenhurst or just kids in lindy
Has anyone used either nursery school program. St.Joseph's in Babylon or grace Methodist in Lindenhurst Or just kids in Lindenhurst? I'm looking for my duaghter who will start come sept. My church is st.joes but haven't heard much about the program but liked what I saw when I stopped in yesterday. As for grace all I know about it is that i went there when I was 3. 23 yrs ago. Any info would be great. Just kids is the pre school that works with my district. And does a lottery. Haven't heard much about it.

I don't know anything about St. Joseph's Nursery School.
DD1 has a lot of friends who went to Grace, and I have never heard anything negative about it. I have also heard very good things about St John's.
DD1 got the lottery for Just Kids for the 3 year old program and the 4 year old program. I LOVE this school for so many reasons. Here's a post I made about an incident that occurred with her future husband
Aaaahhh, first love
Here are some pros and cons of Just Kids:
Pros- It's free They teach a great curriculum The "typical" kids learn to play and learn with kids of all different ablities. The teachers are very involved and caring There are A LOT of teachers and aides in the classroom at all times Because there is such a focus on special education, if your child has any issues and delays it will be addressed right away
Cons- The parking is HORRIBLE. Invest in a good umbrella for rainy days. Get ready for yelling matches in the parking lot with stupid people blocking the bus lanes, double parking, etc. It is in an "out of the way" area of Lindenhurst, all the way up north. There can be a slightly unsavory nature to some of the parent population. This is my personal experience. Get ready to stand in the hallway waiting for kids to come out of the classroom and mingle with dads in wifebeaters, moms wearing sweats that have "Sleep With Me" bedazzled on the azz, etc.

I was planning on sending to DS to St Joseph's in Babylon for the 2.5 year old program. I haven't heard anything bad about the 3 schools at all. I know people who go to Grace and I was friends with people who used to be teachers at Just Kids.

Thanks carissa! I loved st.joes when I was there yesterday its our church so I liked that also. I went to grace as a kid so that's why I figured I would check it out. And as far as just kids I wanted to ask about it given that its the univeral pre k for Lindenhurst district.

My DS went to St. Joe's for three years (he's in first grade now). Whenever we run into the staff, they still remember his name. I thought it was a very good program and he really enjoyed it.

I actually just signed him up for the 2 year old class (toddling twos) starting in January. I stay with him once a week until June then he goes by himself to the 2.5 year old class in sept. I thought that would be a nice transition for him.
