How long does it take?

Hello fellow teachers!

I applied through NYS back in August for my 5-9generalist spec. ed. certification extension and my application still has not been reviewed. Does anyone know how long it will take to be approved/reviewed?

It took almost a year to get my professional certification. They were that backed up.

I sent in all my materials in January and had my certification by March. I called up though and spoke to a rep. After being on hold for like 30 minutes, they pushed through my application in less than 5 minutes. I heard it is very disorganized at NYSED. I live in the capital region and I know someone who went directly to the office and he said there are just piles and piles of applications all over the place.
