Aww lol that's funny but I would literally die if SD ever said that about me 
I don't have one but SD got me a pair of boots (i'm not supposed to know). Last year, the SK got me a beautiful Dior perfume and the year before, a pretty aqua blue gemstone ring. I think the year before that, they got me these pretty different-colored wine glasses which I absolutely LOVED! I think those were my favorite gift to date. It was just a set of 6 in a pretty box.
Just some ideas.  I'm sure your Stepmom will appreciate anything you get her.

I'm sure you are one of the nicer step moms out there. I happen to have a horrid woman as my step mother. I am just getting my dad and her a GC to Broadway.com so they can see any show they like.

I once gave mine a little glass broom, she didn't get the hint. Next year I got her a set of black roses and she sorta got it then.
Now we just don't bother to pretend (thank GOD for adulthood). I make the required (fake) merry christmas phone call, love you, hope all is well B.S round but that's about it.
I get my father AJ stuff and say its for 'the house'. Heck I don't even mail things there with her name on them. Its always to my Dad.
She technically was never invited to my wedding!  Everywhere else it was Mr. & Mrs. So-n-So but when it came to my dad it was *JUST* Mr. Mymaiden name. I didn't even give her 'guest' status. She had no seating card and was excluded from all but four photos.
Yet every year we act friendly and civil. It's actually very funny. Most people outside our home thing we're the best of friends!
I would get my MIL a nice necklace. My aunt is getting her favorite soaps and a nice AJ calendar. Plus we are considering buying her a new phone since her old one is just so old.
