1st day of Clomid.. Excited and Nervous

Starting Clomid day 5-9 took 1st pill today. I have been TTC for a year now and had 1 mc in June. I am 34 and do not O every month. I decided to try Clomid and I am hoping this works for me. I am staying possitive and praying !!! Anyone have success using clomid? I would love to hear some possitive feedback

clomid can be a great drug but did not work for me but many people have had great sucess on it

did they discuss a trigger shot with you? i say that bc it will not make u ovulate and if u dont on your own like me u would need it

i had little side effects,just some hot flashes

just make sure you are monitored on it

I do ovulate but not every month. My doc thinks this should help me. I was able to get preg in June so I do know I can get prego I did MC but I havent had the O happy face from June. He suggested Clomid and I agreed after doing much research. I see him next Tuesday for an exam. He is monitoring me every week.

i just meant if thisis the month you do not ovulate the clomid will not make you ovulate..it will just make if you respond more follies

I took clomid and it did not work for me. I ovulated on my own every month.

I think if you are not ovulating every month you should really as him about a trigger. This will guaranty that you O. Leaving it up to your body to maybe O IMO then its not worth taking the clomid since clomid stimulates you to produce more follies it will not make you O

I did O January- June... I finally got prego in June and lost the baby. I then again finally ovulated in November but did not get prego... December I ovulated and again not prego... So I do ovulate. I did have an O gap between June and November.

i think what Gina is trying to say is that clomid is only meant for egg production, it won't help if your body doesn't provide the hormones for ovulation. so thats why many ladies do a trigger shot, which IMO is smarter since you can time or IUI much more effectively since with trigger you guarantee ovulation within 36 hours.

as far as offering positive inspiration, sorry, clomid didnt do a thing for me either, but I have PCOS. it prob works more consistently for non-PCOSers. hopefully it will give you a few more eggs to work with to up the chance of a BFP. good luck!!

OK... I think I confused everyone lol. I have been TTC since last year and then January-June 2011. I ovulated and never got prego. June I got prego but had a MC. After I MC I didnt ovulate until November. I still have not gotten prego. My DH sperm count is fine and my HSG came back clear. My Doc suggested Clomid to help with more eggs since he feel I am not producing a healthy egg.

I knew I wasnt Ovulating because I never got the happy face on my OPK.

no experience, i just wanted to ask how fast it was between talking to the doctor and having them start you on clomid? i have been trying to be patient but i left a message for my doctor today - i think it's time to start some testing.
i came off the pill a year ago, got my bfp in june (1st month using opk's). miscarried in aug, 1st month trying again was oct. used cbefm AND opk's for 3 cycles now - according to both, i O (plus i had bloodwork done back in march as well and it showed everything normal) - but yet again AF came yesterday.
i'm 31 and really thought i'd have a baby or be pregnant by this christmas and instead, i'm miserable, stressed and depressed
sorry to not respond to your post. just looking for advice from someone maybe in a similar boat.

good luck! i'll be starting my first clomid cycle in the next week or so, hopefully! just waiting for AF to arrive (although, secrectly, i'm h oping she won't come at all because i am still holding out hope that i may be pregnant this month)

I still think you need to talk to your Dr about the trigger. Just because you get a on an OPK does not mean you O it just means you have a surge. The only real way is to either temp or through blood work with your Dr. I just would hate for you to take the clomid and then not O on your own.

I have been trying for a year on my own, don't always ovulate according to opk's, CBEFM, . My GYN suggested I "keep trying" although I am going to be 41 next month. I finally decided to go to a fertility specialist who confirmed with bloodwork that I don't O (or at least didn't this month and prob previous months. I already had a ton of bloodwork that showed low thyroid and Vitamin D (both important for fertility) and an HSG to check for blocked tubes. My hubby had blood and semen analysis and have an "info session" next Thurs for possible clomid/IUI. My suggestion to you is go see a specialist. Good luck.

My twin boys are the result of 50 mg Clomid with IUI. We were so lucky to be successful on our first cycle with a RE.

I had a blocked tube cleared during HSG and clomid helped the quality of my eggs. DHs SA was good.

I didn't need to do a trigger shot because after more than a year of charting I knew that I O on my own. The charting showed my O every cycle.
