an idea for telling the grandparents to be...
since I'm a dorky planner, I picked these books up a month ago when I saw them at Francesca's in the Huntington Mall....it's a grandma/grandpa book with questions for them to fill out for their grandchild, it's the cutest thing! Just figured I'd throw this idea out there for anyone w/ a recent BFP....I plan on giving these to the in-laws and my mom when we have a BFP

I absolutely LOVE this idea!!! I never got to know my grandparents as they all passed away before I was old enough to understand the importance of our family history. I really wish i knew more about their lives. I am so going to get these for them! Thanks for the idea, now I just have to remember for when I get my BFP!!!

yes same here! My paternal grandparents passed away long before I was born, and my mother's parents passed when I was a teenager. I would've loved to have a book like this b/c there are so many unanswered questions about my grandparents (although that's also b/c my paternal grandfather abandoned his family, so that's a whole other story!!).
Hoping you get your BFP soon so you can make use of this book!!!!

DH's parents are divorced and both remarried. Would you get these just for the biological grandparents or would you get them for his step mom and step dad too? Just curious.

hmmm personally if I envisioned both sets of grandparents (including step grandparents) being involved in my child's life, then I would give them each a set (even if that technically means they're providing some family memories that don't necessarily involve you since it's not a blood relation). But on the other hand if you have the stepmother from hell or something, then no I probably wouldn't give them one  Do you think it would bother your mom if your stepmother received a booK? and vice versa w/ your dad....that's a tough call!
ETA: oops!! just realized you said DH's parents, not your parents! Would DH have to deal w/ any drama from the step-parents if they didn't receive a book? (if either step parent had a hand in raising him then I would definitely say it's a nice gesture to give them one too!)
