Daycare Req's Please! (Northport/Commack vicinity)
Hi!
I'm currently searching for a full-time job and I will be needing childcare for my 4mo DD once I find something.
Can you recommend your daycare? I would prefer in-home, but am open to daycare facilities too!
I am located in Northport, so I'd love something local (npt/commack), but will go as far as huntington of needed.
Thank you!!!

I liked Kiddie Academy of Greenlawn (Waldbaum's Shopping Center).http://www.kiddieacademyofgreenlawn.com/
I've hear good things about Island Kids. The only reason I didn't go with Island is they cost about the same as Kiddie Academy but were closed more days (they generally follow the school calendar).http://northport.patch.com/listings/island-kids-early-childhood-center
Previously we had them at Wee Luv Em which is part of the VA Medical Center. I loved the grounds, the walks they'd take the kids on & the fact that when they're older they can play in the snow. While it's the least expensive place around, I had a few people I know recently leave there from bad experiences. So I'm not sure I can recommend them wholeheartedly anymore.
Sorry - just reread that you wanted in home daycare. I didn't do an in home daycare as I wanted the checks & balances of a full center, along with not relying on one person. I'll leave my post up in case you were looking for other options.

For infants, we only have experience with centers. We have a great place once dc turns 18m.
My sister uses learning experience in ft salonga and is very happy.
Dd is at kindercare in Huntington. It hasn't been that long, but we are happy.
We had a different experience with KA of Glawn than pp. They are sponsors on this board though so fm if you are considering.

My only advice would be to pick something close to home (NOT work) so that you can drop your DC off on the occasional day off. Look for local day care centers and stop in for a visit. There's plenty around.

My sister has her son here LINK where he has been since 3 months of age. My niece was there from 9 months to start of school. She absolutely LOVES it there. If I lived close enough I would have put my DD there.
Everyone has a different comfort level with disclosure, so I can't say who, but I do know a LIF mommy whose 2 kids attend this center.
