Bedding set debate - suggestions needed please!
DS just turned two. I am debating between the two sets. I decided to eliminate Sesame Street because it might be too babyish in the near future. I like the Planes, Trains and Trucks set but for almost double the cost am I gong to get that much more use out of it, like three more years use than the Thomas Set I will still need to get wall to wall carpeting, blinds and a sheer curtain because I am going with a straight valance. I posted 2 Olive kids because one is the company site and the other is Amazon which is a little less expensive for $300.00
Planes Trains and Trucks below: Total cost $300.00 (Amazon Price)

Thomas Set below:Total cost $180.00
http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/hit-entertainment-bedding-thomas-the-tank-engine-reversible-comforter-sets?ID=491894
I need to decide by the end of the day.

We had an Olive Kids set years ago, granted it was a toddler bed set, but it was not good quality it all. I wouldn't pay $300 for one of their sets.

Those sets that you liked are both on overstock.com for much cheaper than Macys. They also have a lot of neutral sets as well.

Also try ebay under "That's Mine" or "Kids Expressions". They have some nice quilt sets comparable to PBK, with matching accessories, and they hold up nicely. The colors are a little less loud, and I think you would get more time out of them. They also sell them at Marshall's and Homegoods.

Actually the Thomas set is $140.00 - I am buying. I looked at Overstock for that set - only comes in toddler bed size at $49.00 - I am trying to fit a full size mattress - why more $$$$. Thanks anyway.
Solids I do not want because he will have mostly solid walls.I have also found that solids show EVERYTHING. Busy prints do not and the Thomas has a reversible print comforter. Thank you anyway.

Thank you... I had a bad experience with Ebay and refuse to deal with it anymore.

Thank you but that is just for the comforter, I then have to purchase 2 pillow shams. For the Thomas, I got 2 shams and the comforter for $80.00. A friend with teenage boys said he will outgrow that about the same time or just as quickly as the Thomas set. I also do not like the window valance that comes with that set.

I guess you could say, I've been a good student and done my homework.
