I used to.

Kinda miss them.

Usually lower pay, but better benefits and often a nicer working environment in many respects.

Yes, i do in nyc. I worked for the state, corporate, private developers and i must say, i love working for the non-profit I do now. Benefits, salary, perks, hours, all are wonderful.i love what i do and our mission, just makes a nice work atmosphere. I can see me staying here forever....this is from a former job jumper!

I work for a nonprofit agency. I actually found the job posted on craigslist.

As an above poster said, the pay is nothing to brag about, but the benefits are great. We're actually closed the week after Christmas every year, so I get paid to stay home! My agency is extremely small, so that brings about a lot of frustrations and unfortunately, tons of unprofessionalism.

Thanks everyone! I've been out of school 3 years, and am currently subbing while I continue looking for a teaching job. I have always been involved with philanthropy and community service projects, and I'm subbing at a school where I'm able to put together a ton of community service projects with the students. The more I do with them, the more I feel like I could do something like that as a career.

I'm going to go back to my college in the next few weeks and get help rewriting my resume to apply for nonprofit jobs. I'm not sure where to start looking..I'm thinking somewhere with fundraising and fundraising events.

The website idealist.org has many job listings for nonprofits.
