How long does it really take?
Ok, let me start off with a sorry for the fake name but no one knows that I am currently having a miscarriage. We were goiing to tell everyone one christmas, but i was having problems and now were glad we kept it private so far.
Went to the dr right before christmas with spotting they said not to worry made sono appt for the following week. had bleeding etc all christmas weekend. Went for the sono on tuesday was told 9 weeks along and no heartbeat
So after talking to my dr i said i'd see what happens naturally. So now almost a week later, i have like no bleeding. barely spotting and I KNOW that i haven't passed anything yet. I have another appointment tomorrow in which i was thinking of getting the medicine to just help this along.
So my questions are, if you let it naturally hlappen how long did it really take? And if you took the medicine to help it along, when did it start working and how long did it take?

Re: How long does it really take?
My natural mc was a surprise. At around 6pm i started having cramps. No blood or anything. At like 11pm or midnight was when i started seeing pink... then at about 3am is when i started passing everything. It took about an hour and then the cramping completely stopped and when the heavy bleeding started.

Re: How long does it really take?
Thanks for your input. I realy thought i was having a mc on christmas and was surprised when i had the sono and there was something there, but then no heartbeat. So now its a waiting game for me and it seems like its taking forever for this to just be over, so i can go foward and not just waiting for it to happen.

Re: How long does it really take?
So sorry your going through this Im not a lot of help but I was told my pregnancy ended 2 weeks prior to my sono that indicated no HB. I never had a mc symptom, baby just stopped growing @8w. I did not want to wait any longer to end this nightmare so I had a D&C the next day. I cannot imagine waiting and having go through that anxiety of taking a pill to pass. Again Im really sorry & hope this is all over soon for you..may hugs

This is pretty much what I did. I went in for my first sono at 5w3d since I was spotting, and saw a heartbeat. Went in for a second sono a week later, no spotting, no nothing, but also no HB. Scheduled the d&c for the following week, which was almost two weeks ago at this point.

I had a procedure also. I went at 7 weeks to find out there was just an empty sac. I had the procedure 2 days later. I don't think I could have handled waiting for it to happen naturally.

Yes, same here. I started bleeding lightly around 5am in the morning. It started getting heavier shortly after and I noticed clots. It wasnt until a few hours later that I passed the baby. Im sorry you are going through this

Re: How long does it really take?
thanks ladies for your replies. Since nothing is progressing right now, I'm doing the medical route this weekend and hoping to pass the baby so we can start to move past this.
