What's your DC's eating schedule? (for a 5-6 month old)
DD is 5 1/2 months old now, I'm curious as to what your eating schedule is for your 5-6 month old. It would also help if you included their current weight because I'm sure everyone's DC's are very different. I was told by her Dr. yesterday that she needs she needs to gain a little more weight. She was born at 7lbs 1oz. and now weighs 14lbs 1oz. I felt like I had done something wrong when I left that she's not gaining as much as she should. She's been a light eater from the beginning, I can only feed her so much I can't force feed her! So I'd like to compare what your 5-6 month old DC is eating in comparison to mine. Thanks!

DS is now over 16lbs. He will be six months next week.
He was born at 8lb9oz.
He gets 5 bottles a day- takes anywhere between 6-8oz. He also gets one jar of stage 2 fruits or veggies in the evening.

DD is 19lbs 5oz. She'll be 6 months in 2 weeks.
She gets 4 6oz bottles a day but she doesn't always finish each bottle since we started solids. She eats 2tbsp of oatmeal and a fruit in the morning. And she gets 3tbsps of oatmeal in the evening with a veggie.

DD is 6.5 months old and about 16 lbs. She takes 6 - 5oz bottles a day. She also takes 1-2 tablespoons of cereal with 2oz fruit in the morning and 1-2 tablespoons of cereal with 2oz veggies for dinner. I mix her cereal with formula taken out of her bottles.

Re: What's your DC's eating schedule? (for a 5-6 month old)
DD is a little over 6 months. At her 6 month appt she weighed 14 lbs 4 oz. She was born at 6 lbs 10 oz and has always been on the smaller side but her ped was never concerned bc she consistently gained weight She is EBF and has been eating solids since 5 months. At this point here is where we are as far as a feeding schedule :
Wake up (7:30/8) - nurse
Breakfast (9 ish ) - cereal mixed with 2oz breast milk and stage 2 jar fruit
12:30 ish - nurse
Lunch (2:30) jar of veg / fruit mix
4:30/5 - nurse
Dinner - (6:30/7) - jar of veg and 1/2 jar fruit ( sometimes she eats the whole second jar)
8:15 - nurse
DD is a very eager eater. She even started snacking on puffs and eats chunks of fruit in the Sassy mesh feeder. IMO - as someone who worked with infants for 5 years, she is eating more than most babies her age. But like I said, she has always shown an interest I'm food so I just go with it.

Re: What's your DC's eating schedule? (for a 5-6 month old)
All these responses are so helpful. I am just starting DD on solids & I am trying to figure out when to give her what. She will be 6 moths in a week & a half & weighs 15lbs. She usually has 4- 6 or 7oz bottles & 2 tblspns of oatmel for dinner around 6pm

Re: What's your DC's eating schedule? (for a 5-6 month old)
DS is 4 mos 1.5 wks and almost 17 lbs... Big boy. We stated him in solids on the 1st at the recommendation of his GI doc due to his severe reflux. Prior to starting solids he was getting (5) 6 oz bottles with 2+ tsp rice cereal added to thicken. He gets a bottle every 3+ hrs starting at 8-8:30am, last one 8:30-9:30pm. We still have him on that schedule, but give him his "meal" before his 2nd bottle, around 11am. I make his food, so I'm not sure the exact amount, maybe 1.5 oz? Once he gets the hang of this whole solids thing I'll up it to before his 2nd and 4th bottle (5:30ish). We started with sweet potatoes (he liked!) and tomorrow we try sweet peas, then after 3 days, spaghetti squash. Then it's bananas, apples, and pears.

Re: What's your DC's eating schedule? (for a 5-6 month old)
DS is 6 months and we had our appt today. He weighs 21 lbs.
He wakes around 7:30 and nurses 2 tbs cereal and small container of fruit between 8:30 and 9am.
I go to work and he gets a 4 or 5 ounce bottle of formula and naps
I either get off work (part time) or come home or lunch ( other days) around noon and nurse him.
5pm nurse 6-6:30 2 tbs cereal and small container veggie, sometimes a little bit of formula with dinner
8:30 quick nursing snack 9:30 bottle of formula and then nurse.

Re: What's your DC's eating schedule? (for a 5-6 month old)
DD will be 6 months on Saturday and is 16 pounds. She was drinking about 27 ounces a day, but since starting solids she's drinking a little less, probably around 23 ounces.
She gets breakfast of either 3 tablespoons of oatmeal or whatever new food we're trying. She then gets dinner of 2 ounces of veggie or the 3 tablespoons of oatmeal if she got her veggie or fruit in the morning. We just started solids 2 weeks ago and I'm pretty much only introducing new foods on the weekends when I'm home with her, so she doesn't have a lot of variety in her diet yet.
