Inappropriateness at work

What are things people you come across at work do that totally drive you batty?

Either at your place of business or someone you need to deal with in your field.

There's this "nurse" who makes me nutty. She doesn't work for my agency (thank goodness), however, is supposed to have a standing appointment every week with our mutual client at the same time.

At least once a month, SHE will arrive way early for the appointment, get pissy-issy that he's not there (because SHE is ready to go home) and starts calling everyone and their brother (even agencies who no longer work with this man--I'm no longer his direct social worker either) claiming he's not being seen and is non-compliant with treatment.

I have tried to file complaints about her before but didn't get responses to this.

And there are people out there who want a job and can't find one. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Arriving late to meetings. 15-20 minutes late to a 30 minute meeting. Consistently. Not a 'whoops I forgot' or 'emergency' but all the time.

Blasting music so loud I can hear it 20 feet away when I'm in my office.

People working in technology that say 'I dont understand technology.' Umm, find a new line of work, or pickup a book please. Or at least dont admit that to everyone.

How about my boss, who is an MSW, friending her intern on facebook after she made this big speech over the summer about how she doesn't want people to "get too personal with the interns."

Re: Inappropriateness at work

There is a student that I'm with at my clinical site that drives me nuts!!! She is lazy but funny so they all love her. The final straw for me is when she brought in her kindle and sat her lazy azz down all day reading!!! As students we are supposed to stock the rooms & take whatever exams come in, she handed me an exam as says I don't want to do this you do it. I said no way you put your hand on it so its all yours. Thankfully my instructor as not put me with her for our final rotation.

Umm.... how about the head of your office telling you about the size of his boyfriend's privates....and then adding the size of his to the conversation!?!?!

Or the line of all time - from the same person: 'One of you is going to win the stupid award and whoever wins is fired.'

Oohhhh, I forgot another winning statement from the above person: 'You're all safe because I hired you, but just remember that I'm smarter than you, faster than you and I'm watching'

Day before I left for vaca at 5:30 she leaves me to do something that is her job. I did it just to be done with it but she would have had a fit if she had to do it.

She actually threw someone under the bus about it too.

I'm done with this chick.

Re: Inappropriateness at work

I share an office with 3 other people. They tend to have loud conversations when I am on the phone.
The thing that took the cake; a few weeks ago one of them was helping an ex co-worker prep for her dissertation defense. She logged onto Skype and listened (without headphones) to this girl practice her whole oral presentation. She had her computer speakers at top volume. She didn't even ask if it was OK. I wanted to say "No, don't worry, I am not trying to get any work done over here."

yes, two books..the non-assistant and the trials and tribulations of a LIRR commuter.

I think the latter will only be popular in the tristate area...Chat Icon

Had a couple of co-workers like that. We have an open floor plan with everyone in cubes. No one has privacy.

Whenever certain someones would use their speakerphones, I conveniently found something long that had to be typed on my old typewriter.
