D & C In office
At my first prenatal visit, the dr. didn't see a heart beat. One of the options was a D&C but she does it in office and I will be awake. When i asked about pain she said there is about 10 seconds of cramping. I am alittle skeptical and scared because so many people have D&Cs in hospital and are knocked out. Has anyone has an in office D&C and can share their experience?

so sorry for your loss. I had the same experience in Sept. NoHB @ first visit. I opted for a D&C but my Dr did it in Hospital. Im no help but If you have the option choose a hospital or to be knocked out. For me I wanted it done ASAP and to be a sleep. Again Im so sorry that your going through this but I would not want to be awake..its just too much emotionally & physically.

Re: D & C In office
First off, I am so so sorry for your loss... I had a D&C performed at my Dr's office on 12/14...I was awake, and the pain was similiar to what your Dr. mentioned to you. Just felt like really bad cramps for maybe 10-30 seconds tops. I did have the option of going to the hospital, but I personally felt more comfortable having the procedure at the office. I had a really bad reaction to the anesthesia from my c-section, so I was concerned about feeling that way again, on top of the emotional ache of it. Follow your gut and do what feels right for you, but having the procedure done in the office was not bad for me.

Re: D & C In office
My friend did this and said she would never do it or let anyone she cared about do it either. For her the pain was awful and knowing and heaing what was happening was a nightmare. I had mine knocked out in the hospital. I am sure medically either way u will be fine but a dand c for eeg reasons I might stay awake but for something so emotionally painful give me drugs and wake me up later

So sorry for your loss
I had one done in the doctors office in October. My doctor gave me the choice of doing it there or going to the hospital. I chose to do it and get it over with then and there for a lot of reasons.
FM me if you have ANY questions at all

I did mine in the office. It was emotional, and I thought it was painful. It was not terrible, but it did hurt.
