Excessed teachers
What are some jobs that you or someone you know that has been excessed have found..I know the typical daycare center, private school thing. I am used to making good money and need something a little more substantial than that salary. Without going back to school, has anyone gotten a high paying job with an education degree and masters degree?

When you say you're getting excessed, do you mean your school is closing down? If that happens won't you still continue to collect a paycheck and go into the ATR?

I am on long island. I was excessed last year and was hired back part- time. I am making a quarter of what I was making last year and it stinks. I am on a call back list for the next 7 years..

yea excessed in the DOE and excessed on LI are two different things. on LI you are basically laid off with nothing. if there is a position open in the next 7 years they have to call you and offer it to you.
OP as far as an answer to your question...i really am not sure whats a comparable salary. what exactly are your degrees in? have you been applying to various place?

I have my masters +30. I am certified in el ed and reading k-12. There aren't any schools to apply to and I have been looking on various web sites for jobs, but can't find anything. I was making high 80's...
