The one in East Meadow.
I am waiting my blood work from him. Does it include auto-immune bloodwork? What am I looking into? What is different from what my RE did?

I am actually tagging on to your question. What is the auto-immune bloodwork called and how do I read it on my results? All my dr. said was you are clear. Then I dumped her and went to a new dr. who reviewed it all and said no problems. Ok???

Never heard of Dr. k in East Meadow. Whats his full name?
Plenty of drs do immune testing but very generalized for autoimmune diseases like lupus, and a general cbc.
The immune workup via Reprosource is specialized to include an Nk assay, cytokine ratio, and your t- cells (helper, cd 56, nkt, cd 19)

Oh Dr. Kofinas!! I think it was the East Meadow that threw me off! He's in Garden City
Did he not tell you what he was testing you for? He's big on Thrombophilia issues, very aggressive and preventative. I'm sure he'd include some sort of specialized immune workup but I'm not positive.
If you want to know, I'd just call and ask!

Hey!! I'm responding from my phone so this will be brief... He basically tests for thromophelia issues in that workup. He doesnt do nk cells... Although it's a very thorough test and when you meet with him to go over the results they lay it out for you very clearly explaining which issues you have, etc.. They gave me paperwork that had all my issues highlighted and explained what it meant.

Does Dr. Kofinas do or test for different things than Dr. Braverman? I had an entire work up done by Braverman about 2 years ago; but Im wondering if Dr. Kofinas tests for even more things??

Most of Kofinas' tests are the same as Braverman but there are some extras that he does.

I think Dr.B does extra because he does immune as well .. Dr.K focuses on thrombo .. HOWEVER .. Dr.K will also test for vitamin deficiencies, etc to get you on track even before you get pregnant. You'll find out at your consult if they tested for that stuff too ...

I never went to Dr. B..but saw Dr. K...I can tell you that the man is THOROUGH. I felt that he ran more non-immune related tests than most Dr.'s. He also understands immune issues...but I am not sure what typreof testing he does as far as immune treatment. He really made me feel secure.

I see Dr Kofinas every 2 weeks. I wouldn't have gotten this far (21wks) without him or Dr Braverman!
