Anyone work in a Law Firm in NYC?
I have few questions..
Does your company have part-time secretaries?
Does your company have weekend secretaries?
Does your law firm have a word/document processing department? If so, is it your own employees or is it an outsorced company?
I'm just curious, I used to work for one and back in 2009 I was laid off, but it kinda worked out for the best I got to raise my son and since then we had another
Now I'm thinking of going back part-time/weekend, but I can't consider my old place 'cause they don't have part-time secrearies---that's what got me laid off---I asked to be put on the floater list and they let them go--oh well.

Re: Anyone work in a Law Firm in NYC?
I worked at a law firm until this past September when I quit to be a SAHM, but I'm guessing things haven't changed in the past few months.
part-time secretaries? no weekend secretaries? no word/document processing? yes, not outsourced and they do have weekend coverage for that.
Feel free to FM me if you want more info. Good luck!

Re: Anyone work in a Law Firm in NYC?
I work in the LI office now but my firms headquarters is in midtown NYC, and the answer is "no" to all your questions. All our admins are full time, and we dont outsource any printing jobs. If anything, they are thinking of getting rid of secretaries and having paralegals and attorneys do what the secretaries are doing to save $$..

I work in a law firm. We USED to have part time/floating secretaries, but since times have been tough, they were the first to go. We've never had weekend secretaries/reception. We do have a Word Processing dept. but it is very small. It is not outsourced and hours are mainly evenings and weekends.
