BTDT Moms..silly question
The people who are with you in the room during labor, lets say dh and a friend or whatever......do they actually see what's going on down there (if they stand by your head)..or like does your gown block it?

Re: BTDT Moms..silly question
If they stood way back maybe- but if you can see them then they can see everything!
My DH didn't want to look or cut the cord goig into it. But when it was all happening he was very involved and cut the cord!

Re: BTDT Moms..silly question
during labor, no, they won't see anything. there's no reason for you to be exposed during that time.
during pushing - yeah they'll probably see everything.

I promise you will both get over it! The only thing that you will want is the baby out of you and he will be so amazed that you are giving birth to his child, that he won't care either. It is a very unexplainable moment when you are the one going through it!

Re: BTDT Moms..silly question
No, they do not have to see a thing!!! DH was in the room with my first DC and he saw nothing the entire time. He stood way up by my head - up by my forehead and was face to face with me most of the time - and I made sure the sheet was around my knees the entire time ! Anyone and everyone who walked in the room knew DH was to see and touch nothing ! He does not do well in hospitals in the first place let alone with blood ect.... I made sure as soon as someone new walked in to tell them right away DH was not to help or they would have to deal with him passed out on the floor When it was time to push they just brought in two nurses. Just make your wishes known !!!!

Re: BTDT Moms..silly question
DH did NOT want to see anything, but wound up seeing it all while I was pushing. As he put it, it was kind of hard not to while he was helping to hold one of my legs up. Plus he could see the reflection in the doctor's mask. He got over it though

Re: BTDT Moms..silly question
My husband stayed up by my shoulder and didn't look, even though the Dr told him he should. He saw nothing as far as I know. My sister didn't see anything either.

Re: BTDT Moms..silly question
I can't imagine worrying about whether my gown was down. There are a lot of position changes, etc., so I think you have to assume that whoever is with you in the room will see all the goods

Re: BTDT Moms..silly question
My dh didn't want to see anything & always says that he thanks goodness that he didn't lol He stood by my torso holding one of my legs for me, but looked up at me/towards my face coaching me on the entire time so he wouldn't accidentally see anything

Pushing= you are completely exposed. My dh was up by my head bc he doesnt do well with blood and he said he still saw a little.
