Rich kids - what to buy?
I have to go to a 1st birthday (girl) in a few weeks and need gift ideas. We aren't especially close to the family so I have no idea what they have and they are wealthy so they don't "need" anything.
Anyone have any great gift ideas?
I'm not rich so I'd like thoughtful/unique ideas over pricey options!

I was thinking around $50.
Anyone have any experience with ISEEME personalized books?

I was going to say this too. I dont think you should see it as being "rich". A gift doesnt have to be expensive to be great. It really is the thought that counts.
How much were you thinking of spending? You could get her a personalized jewelry box (pottery barn has cute ones) Or get a personalized preschool backpack and fill it with cute books (maybe get a theme - like ballerina or princess books)

We are going to a "rich" kid's party this weekend. Their dad drives a ferrari and the child has more toys than I have ever seen.
I am just getting a normal gift that i thought the child would enjoy. i got him a kiddie camera and a melissa doug puzzle. he may already have a camera but i didn't see it the last time we were at their house.
There are a lot of nice first birthday gifts. when we lived in manhattan, i often gifted clothing from one of the nicer kid boutiques. i rarely buy my kids nice clothes but i buy nice clothes for others. my kids mostly wear children's place and gap clothing.

Every time I see a picture of this baby shes in Chanel or some other designer outfit. I priced a few designer labels on some bargain websites today and I cant see spending $50 for a D&G tank top and $70 for a pairi of capris!

I always buy books when I am in doubt. I don't think people buy kids books that often and as a mom, I love when my DS gets them as a gift.

the ISEEME personalized books are great...dd has 2 of them, the one with the fairies that spell out her name is her absolute favorite book, and my ds has one as well, he is too young to really understand it but it is very cute as well..hth

but little girls-i like to get a diaper cover with their initial on it. always a hit and i love mine for my baby. she rocks them all summer long.

I would not get clothes. People are picky about that and they will most likely be returned or donated. I'd get a GC to Toys r Us OR a toy you'd get for anyone else.
