Are you paying for online tutoring?
I work for university of phoenix, and they offer online tutoring for their students but its part of the tuition.

I am interviewing with a company..they told me I m hired after a phone interview..but I need a background check, NY state fingerprinting, and they want my SS# on an online form. It makes .me nervous giving my ss# online.

I currently work for two online tutoring agencies. If they are asking for fingerprints, then I might know which one it is. If you FM, I can give you more information about the company.
