I read/saw this earlier. Was it just me or did the two men not react at all appropriately? One pulled the dog back and the other was kinda patting his muzzle?!
I feel really bad for the woman and the dog

Re: Anyone hear about this Dog biting an anchor woman on the air?
That's so awful for her! If he has no history of aggression, in fairness to the dog, it was probably still traumatized from the previous day's events, being in freezing cold water, being pulled out by strange people, almost dying, that he probably wasn't in his right frame of mind. I hope the judge will spare him for his family, (if they still trust him and want him), b/c they clearly love him. I am quite convinced the dog was clearly just dealing with post traumatic stress of some sort and felt fear, maybe even being on camera, etc, set him off. Clearly if he had a history of aggression, his owner would not be taking him on tv, put him in that setting. His owner seems to truly care so much about him.
But of course, feel terrible for the woman. Poor woman. Sad all around. she recovers quickly. I wonder what she would want to happen to the dog.

Re: Anyone hear about this Dog biting an anchor woman on the air?
I saw this on the news, why she felt the need to get down on the ground so close to his face...I would never do that to a dog I didn't know.

Read the comments. I didn't see the video but every comment pretty much says the dog gave her a warning, growling, showing teeth and she still proceeded to have her hands on both sides of his head, scratching him while in his face. Honestly, how stupid can you be?????????????????????????????????? Now the poor dog (who just almost died the day before) has to suffer b/c she was a stupid human who was forcing herself on him, in his face, despite his warnings that he was uncomfortable. I would go ballisitic if someone I didn't know grabbed me by the head, and stuck their face in my face. Imagine an animal, esp one that was traumatized the day before?

Honestly ...I saw the bite! But I cant find it!!!!! they banned it off the air.. I didnt see a warning... But I also think the dog was giving her a warning.. Did not attacking her!!! He just quickly snaped and grabbed her face quickly.. It was not an attack.. He was just saying get out of my space.. It was so so obvious!!! If he attacked her the man would have stood up trying to pull the dog off of her.. It was a snap.. I feel bad because you didnt see it coming .. but she should have never gotten so close.. That dog was traumatized..

Re: Anyone hear about this Dog biting an anchor woman on the air?
This is a video of the actual bite. IT was as of 8:50am on Friday, 2/10 working. If you don't want to see it, then don't watch it. It isn't graphic. I wanted to see it for educational purposes on the body language of the dog. If you know dogs, this dog's body language was warning enough. In my opinion, you NEVER get in the face of a dog that doesn't know you like that, in a strange place, and rub all around their face and jaw like that. She must not be too familiar with dogs. Sad situation all around.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6woGLJfwdJ8

Re: Anyone hear about this Dog biting an anchor woman on the air?
I read about this yesterday...
While I am very sorry that this woman got bit... She did everything wrong.. and the dog just reacted (like a nervous, traumatized dog would!)...
You never put your face in the face of a dog you don't know..

I couldnt find it glad you did.. That dog was obviously not atacking that woman.. He was asking her to get out of his face.. You see how nervous he was.. He was not attacking her.. Now you judge for yourself! A poodle bit my sister on her face and she needed plastic surgery as well.. A yorkie bit my cousin and she still has a scar on her lip from when she was 12 she is 47 now.. You dont get in a dogs face that doesnt know you.. I am more fear ful of this type of dog I will admit it .. but she did everything wrong here.. That dog in my opinion is nt a vicious dog!! I feel sorry for the woman and I would be very upset if this was me.. But I would have to admit this was my ignorance..

Re: Anyone hear about this Dog biting an anchor woman on the air?
Very, very sad situation
I absolutely worry for the fate of that poor dog. Both of my brothers and I were all bit rather hard by family pets as kids (I still have a scar, and I had stitches), but it's because we did stupid things (trying to save the family dinner from the dog's mouth, for example). When provoked, any person or creature has a high potential to react.

Re: Anyone hear about this Dog biting an anchor woman on the air?
Ok saw that video. I thought he aggressively jumped on her and they had to pry him off, which was not the case. He just did a quick snap, and since he was large, his bite was powerful enough with just a nip (for him).
I didnt see the warnings, gotta keep watching it. I think the two men didnt even realize what happened.
I was bit by a few dogs growing up (not our own). One of them had to be pried off my pinkie finger, I am surprised I didnt lose it. And I did nothing to provoke the dog, I was just sitting down with a friend when the dog came out of the neighbors house and lunged at me.

Re: Anyone hear about this Dog biting an anchor woman on the air?
Did they mention what breed that dog is? Looks just like my American Bulldog. The news anchor is an idiot for getting so close in his face! The warning was there but it did happen very quick. He did seem to like her petting him. I am always weary petting new dog especially little yappy dogs. Many of the little nervous breeds are the first to snap quick.
