Tell me about spray tanning
I bought a deal on living social for a $19 spray tan. I have my sons Baptism next month and I need a little color. I am so pale! But thats the thing - I don't want to look, well, overcooked, lol.
How can I be sure that it will look natural? How many days before the event should I go?

Re: Tell me about spray tanning
I would call the place up because they have certain requirements like exfoliating the whole body before arrival, very loose clothing, no bra after its applied, shaving, can't shower in 12 hrs etc...
I was in a bridal party in Oct. and went the night before so I can shower in the am, I was very dark it freaked me out!! Once I showered it toned down , but loved how it looked the day after the wedding. So in my opinion I would do it 2 days before the event for a nice sun kissed look.

I agree with the 2 days trick, but certain places (like Beach Bum, where I go) only have airbrush tanning on certain days, so I'd call ahead and find out before you make any big plans. I would also make sure that it's a PERSON spraying you and not a booth. I find the booths to be a waste since they often come out streaky and uneven. But everytime I've had a person spray me, it's come out perfectly.
Definitely shower and exfoliate before you go- wearing no make-up or moisturizer or anything. I wear only a thong when I go to minimize tan lines. It's a little awkward at first, but totally worth it in the end. I've become kinda friendly with my tanning girl anyway. I've always gone with the lightest shade or a mix of the lightest and the second lightest shade (in the summer) and I've never been too dark or too light. I will also say that it is COLD when you are being sprayed. Really cold. I wind up shivering every time. Again, worth it, it only takes about 5 minutes. When I leave, I wear sweats, a loose fitting t-shirt, and no bra. Right after being sprayed, you will look gross, so don't plan to go anywhere afterwards. It might look streaky or have drips, but as soon as you shower 4 hours later, it will even itself out and tone down a little bit as well. HTH!
ETA: And moisturize every day after getting sprayed! It REALLY helps to keep your tan looking great longer!

I agree as well.
I am LILY WHITE! I actually have a difficult time finding foundation that is white enough! (I use Level 0 La Prarie.
I spray tan once in a while and I think it looks pretty good (I can't go in sun at all, have had 5 skin cancers on my face in the past three years).
I do the spray tan all over, especially when going to be in bikini.
Here are a few pics. Image Attachment(s):
