weight gain
Anyone else feel like they have gained a ton of weight during their pregnancy? I haven't really gained much in my face, but everywhere else I feel like I have. I just feel so big. Not just my belly obviously. I am talking my butt and thighs are huge. I have dimples where I never had them before.
I am trying to look at it from the perspective that my body is sustaining another life, so it really doesnt matter what I look like. But to be truthful I am worried that I wont ever look the same again. I am ashamed that I am even saying this, as I must come across as quite shallow. Please dont get me wrong, I would gain 300 lbs if I knew it was the only way for my baby to be healthy- and I know that it will all be worth it the second I look at my LO.
I still can't help having these worried thoughts
My doc hasnt said anything about how much weight I have gained...and I point blank asked her if I was gaining too much. I was up 25 lbs at 28 weeks..now at 32 I cannot imagine what I am up. I feel like I have gained a ton in the last month. She said if I felt I was then to start watching what I eat...but the thing is I am hungry ALL the time, and the super healthy non- fattening stuff (which I do eat) just doesn't cut it as far as filling me. I am insatiable.

Re: weight gain
I am up about 20 lbs at 37 weeks! However, I was not a skinny girl to begin with, and I have GD, which I was controlling through diet.
The last trimester has not been easy! I am eating all the time. And I've been craving sweets like crazy. The most weight is going to pile on now for me. Dinner will be ready in about 5 minutes, and I already had to have a few slices of cheese because I couldn't wait!

Re: weight gain
I know exactly how you feel. I had self image issues before I got pregnant. I have gained 19 pounds at the 26 week mark. I feel huge. I have definitely gained weight in my thighs and buttox. Every pair of maternity pants I try on is tight on my thighs. I have been to every store that sells maternity clothing and don't like any of the pants. I have acne on my face. I feel fat and ugly. Like you said I know this is for a greater purpose but I am having a hard time feeling beautiful. I was an avid exerciser before I got pregnant and now, if I walk once a week that is a lot. I actually can't wait to get back into an exercise program. Anyway, I am babbling. Just know that you are not alone.

Re: weight gain
I'm so glad others are feeling this. I am so happy to be PG, but I feel so gross. Its the first time in my life where I feel powerless and not in control of my own body. I just feel so uncomfortable, and hungry all the time. I failed my one hour by a lot and now worried i am going to be diagnosed with GD. Between the weight gain, leaky nips, huge undies, industrial size bra, I have never felt less sexy.

Re: weight gain
I don't think it is shallow at all. I think it is a valid concern. I am only 14 weeks but I feel like my ass and thighs and even my arms got so huge already. My body shape has totally changed. I am up 6 pounds so far and am worried I will get really heavy by the end. I try to eat healthy but it is not always possible. I am worried that I won't ever look the same. I think we can- if we work hard at it but I am so bad at exercising and working at it... BLAH!!

Re: weight gain
Same here....feel huge and i am very uncomfortable, i'm normally on the thin side and petite. Every day i say, starting tomorrow i will watch what I eat and try to eat healthier, but then the next day comes and I just want ice cream and cookies and a bunch of other crap. Yesterday i ate a whole sleeve of girl scout cookies!!!!! After that i ate a veggie burger..lol.
It make take a few months, but i do think you'll get your body back. I'm kind of excited at the thought of excercising and being on a diet..i can't wait to be thin again!!!

Re: weight gain
I had gained over 40 lbs at 30 weeks. I only know this because my doc said she will schedule me for a growth sono because they do that if weight gain is over 40 lbs. I don't know the exact gain because I do NOT want to know.
I feel HUGE and uncomfortable. I'm big EVERYWHERE and my face is starting to break out. I noticed cellulite on my thighs in a dressing room the other day and I almost started crying. I was in good shape pre pregnancy so I just feel like this is not my body!
I think a lot of mommas deal with this, and I don't think it's shallow...it's not like we would trade this for NOT being pregnant kwim?
And the weight gain I can handle...I'm just really worried about stretch marks and my stomach not snapping back.

Re: weight gain
Thanks ladies! I feel a lot better knowing that I am not the only one.
I think a lot of is is caused by the fact that DH and I havent had any physical contact besides a peck hello or goodnight in a LOOOOOONG time. He started getting weird about as soon as I started showing which was a while ago.
I actually dont really have any desire to do anything to be truthful, but it would be nice to at least be wanted...KWIM?

exactly.
Dh's should definitely make an effort to be more sensitive and supportive. It's okay to lie and say we look ravishing

Re: weight gain
I've gained 20-25 lbs and am only 25 weeks!!! All of my maternity pants I had to buy early on are too tight on my thighs, and I don't want to buy anymore just for those to get too tight! Nor do i even want to go to the maternity store to try them on. I'm starting to see stretch marks on my belly, and it's itching like crazy - knowing that my skin is stretching even more! I feel the same exact way and its nice to realize i'm not the only one.

Thank you! I have gained over 45 pounds and I just started my 34th week. I have always had a great body, always in shape pre-pregnancy and now I feel like I am HUGE everywhere and have the same worries as you!
Good to know I am not alone.
