Weekly Sonograms/Monitoring??
At my 35 week appointment today I was told that going forward at each my now weekly appointments I would be getting a sonogram and hooked up to the monitor due to the fact that I am on medication for seizures. I have had one seizure, am on an extremely low dose of the medication, and have been continually told by OBs and neurologists that I am not high risk, and that everything is and should proceed normally. The baby has looked great the whole time, and any effects the medication would have had on the baby would have long past, and were thoroughly checked in the anatomy sonogram.
I was caught off guard, so I set it up without asking any questions, but now I worry that being tracked like this may lead to an increased chance of unnecessary intervention when it comes time to have the baby.
Has anyone else had this done who wasn't considered high risk?

Re: Weekly Sonograms/Monitoring??
I have to do weekly sonograms followed by a 20 minute fetal monitoring because I am on medication for my blood sugar. It sounded to me that it's done whenever someone is put on medication....

Re: Weekly Sonograms/Monitoring??
I was not technically considered high risk, but they did the sonograms and monitoring every week for my last trimester. It's annoying to have to take time to do it, but they obviously feel the need to do this. Better to be safe than sorry.
