Pre-School - How Many Days???

My DD goes from 12:30-3pm three days a week this year. We are looking to enroll her again next year (she will be 4) and are wondering if we should put her in 5-days a week. We did three days a week for DS when he was 4, but DH thinks she might do better going every day.

Have you done (or will you do) 5-days for your 4-year old or did you feel like 3 days was enough?

I'm sending my 3 year old 5 days next year. I think my children do better with 5 days, and they love it. It's only 2.5 hours so I feel like I still have plenty of time with them.

DS will go 5 days for Pre-k next year. DD only went 4 days but DS can def handle and needs the 5 days.

I think that anywhere between 3-5 days is appropriate for a 4 year old.

In some ways the consistency of having 5 days is helpful for them, especially with getting ready for Kindergarten.

Even so, my school district's SCOPE program only offered 4 days for 4 year olds so that is what we did for my DD and she did just fine transitioning to Kindergarten.

What we did was kept it at 4 days a week and then we did a library class when there was one available, and had playdates set up also so that we were out of the hosue and busy at least every day of the week.

Ds is 3 going 3 mornings a week. Next year at 4 he will go 5 mornings

I did 5 days at 4 years old, only because I didn't want him to have a hard time transitioning to K. I'll do the same with my other 2 boys.
