Opinions Needed: DayCare
I need some opinions....I'm still really upset and can't think too clearly.
Yesterday I picked my DD from daycare (she's 18 months). I put her in the car and notice her pants are soaked.
We drive home, I remove her pants and....no DIAPER!! I'm so disgusted.
I called the director who looked into the problem, said it was a human error and it won't happen again, she would monitor the situation and apologized.
Would you take her out of the daycare? She really loves it, but this incident left a really bad taste in my mouth.
Thanks for the help

For one incident of that nature, no. Only bc that's something I think my DH could be capable of! Whoever did it probably feels awful.
If you like everything else about the daycare I would bring up your disappointment again at the next drop off and play it by ear.

Re: Opinions Needed: DayCare
For 1 incident and she's ok then no. Although I find it weird to totally not have a diaper on. I've had incidents at his old DC where he was in the wrong diaper or maybe I picked him up close to his next change that they didn't do so it was full Never got him and he had NO diaper on. Not sure how a teacher could miss that unless she was totally distracted Did they explain why they think that happened?

Re: Opinions Needed: DayCare
The director thinks the teacher was in a rush to get out because she was closing on her house.

For one incident, I wouldn't remove her. The teacher probably had to put her down for a second to tend to another child real quick and simply forgot to put the diaper back on.

One incident no I would not remove them. While yes havign no diper is gross it was not life threatening or injured the child so I would look past it for now. If others things continue to happen then I would change.

Honestly it can happen to anyone....even us as parents. If it was only this one time I would not make a big deal about it. Accidents happen- people are human.

Re: Opinions Needed: DayCare
maybe im the minority but, that would not be ok with me. I do not understand how anyone forgets to put a diaper on a child who ... wears diapers!
for me, the larger issue would be the teacher "being SO rushed" ... perhaps there isnt enough help in the room?
ETA - i wouldnt remove my child due to this incident, I would just be more closely monitoring what goes on in the room.

Re: Opinions Needed: DayCare
Since it was a mistake, I would let it go.
That almost happened to me just a few weeks ago with DD.
I put her in the crip with just a onsie on while I got dressed. Didn't realize she took her diaper off and I started to dress her. I didn't realize she had no diaper on until I was pulling up her pants. I buttoned her onsie and all and didn't realize there was no diaper.
No harm, no foul.

This!
I know that a few times I have started to put my DD's pants back on with out putting on her diaper. It really can happen to anyone.

Re: Opinions Needed: DayCare
One time, no. it was a mistake that was not a very dangerous mistake. I once forgot to put a diaper on my baby before bed. I felt terrible in the morning... that reminds me..i have a related issue I'll start another thread about :)
