Sesame Spinoff: Any tips????
DS is 26 months and LOVES sesame street.
We wanted to take him last summer but I was in my first trimester and had horrible MS. So we didn't go. We didn't have is PDD-NOS diagnosis then though.
Now we are really want to take him but I'm not sure what is any special arrangements need to be made on our parts. His therapy center said they would write a letter to try and help by-pass lines but I was wondering if there were any other tips, etc.
I contacted Variety/Sesame Place about their Day for Children with Autism because there isn't a lot of information available.

I'd be interested to hear as well. We took DS in October just before he turned 2. It was a complete and utter disaster. There were near 2 hour waits for the rides which DS obviously would not wait on. It was completely packed. He might have enjoyed the little toddler area more but for the totally out of control kids. Other than waiting on line for attractions there was not much else to do there

Just so you know, the Variety event sells out, and it's jam packed there that day from what I hear. You cannot request a disability pass either, since the entire park is full of kids on the spectrum.
They do provide an accommodation for people with disabilities on regular park days. I've never utilized it though. I've been told an employee escorts you to the front of the line at the water rides. Many have reported that most of the folks in the line are not quiet about how they feel about that.

just bring a copy of his IEP/IFSP
and they will give you "front of the line" bracelets"
we did it with DS when we took him... it was a life savor when we went on the lazy river.

We took DS to the Variety event and had a good time. The lines weren't nearly as long as I thought they would be. He had just turned three a few weeks before so he was limited to a smaller part of the park. It was pretty chilly that day so maybe people decided to stay home.
We did see a lot of iPads in use on the lines. I would bring the one we just got for sure ( or just use the Droid or iPhone we have now). Even to keep our other two occupied on the lines.

Are they allowed to look at an IEP? I know at Disney World they can not and will not look at any documentation. You just describe what kind of help you need and you get a GAC (Guest Assistance Card) that's appropriate. I know at Disney World they are super accommodating to special needs children and have whole systems in place.

If you have the flexibility and the weather cooperates, I suggest going in early June on a week day. this is what my friend and I have done the past few years. It's much less crowded because the schools are still in session.

Definately go during the week. Much less crowded. We took DD when she was 3.5 and she had a blast. She didn't go on that many rides (just not her thing) but LOVED the water sections. We went two days and spent the entire second day in the water. The parade was alot of fun and they have a few shows too. We told the cast member whe new went into the show that we need to sit by the door incase we needed to escape and they were very accomadating. I would also definately bring a stroller too incase DC needs a little "save haven". Oh and the food was the worst food I have ever eaten so go offsite or pack a lunch : ).
Have fun!! 
And just a side note....they will not ask you at Disney for and IEP but it never hurts to have one on hand. There are different types of GACs and sometimes its just easier handing over a piece of paper than go through the story a few times.

I read that if the CM asks for documentation that you should ask for a supervisor, because they aren't supposed to ask.
I brought a letter from the ped and from his school with me anyway.
