Re: Mean nurse made me want to cry!
that nurse is crazy. you look amazing. eat healthy because it's good for you, not because of weight gain. splurging a little here and there is fine! don't worry about the specific numbers. you really do look great.

Re: Mean nurse made me want to cry!
awww i know exactly how you feel.
I was up around the same amount at that point but I'm also tall (5 9). I think they brought up my weight around the same time too.
I have gained more than I'd like but at this point, i'm trying not to stress it. the baby looks good and that's all I care about now and will worry about the weight after.

Aw Cari don't be upset! I've had an experience there where one of the nurses wasn't so nice so don't take it to heart. Thats probably just how she is. They got on me about my weight a bit and I have lost 25lbs in the week since I gave birth so they can shove it! you look great so don't give it a second thought!

Re: Mean nurse made me want to cry!
I'm starting to think tall women gain more almost as a rule.. I'm 5'9", gained 50 and 47 pounds respectively with each of my pregnancies.
I actually told my doctor to lay off when he kept going on and on about my weight when I was preggo with my first. As long as I was healthy and eating right I really saw no need for him to nag me. After I lost (almost) all of it, he didn't say anything when I gained nearly the same weight with my second.
My cousin who is my height gained 100lbs! Not that I recommend that but.. whoa. She's 125 today (yes, skinny!!!)
Another girlfriend about my height has 4 kids, never gained less than 50lbs and a couple of times gained more.
And all the babies are healthy, some of them are teenagers now and all of the mommies would be considered thin or average.. not everyone is meant to gain exactly 30lbs. As long as you're eating right don't worry about it!

Re: Mean nurse made me want to cry!
Woof...I"m 5'3 and gained like 20 lbs already and I'm 17 weeks (and was very fit before pregnancy!) I'm still eating well and working out but it's just all piling on in my belly- my mom was the same way and then had her 6 pack back a month later- I think some people are just programmed to gain more. At least that's what I'm telling myself, lol.
